Summary

Description We are developing a basketball tracking and computer vision device that mounts near a basketball hoop and uses multiple cameras and embedded electronics to track gameplay. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Product Designer to design the enclosure and camera mounting system for our first prototype. Project Scope You will be responsible for: 1. Sensor Enclosure Design Design a protective enclosure around our custom PCB and electronics Accommodate connectors, cables, ventilation, and service access Design for 3D printing and future manufacturability Outdoor-use considerations preferred 2. Camera Mounting System Design mounting brackets for two cameras Ensure stable alignment and vibration resistance Support easy assembly and maintenance 3. Pan/Tilt (PTZ) Mechanical Assembly Design a compact pan/tilt mechanism for dual cameras Integrate standard hobby servos or similar actuators Optimize for reliability and ease of assembly 4. Mounting to Basketball Infrastructure Design attachment system for: Basketball backboards Poles Alternative mounting structures Must be secure and easy to install Files Provided PCB STEP files PCB dimensions Camera specifications Mechanical requirements Reference photos and sketches Deliverables Native CAD files (SolidWorks preferred) STEP files STL files Assembly drawings Exploded views Bill of Materials (BOM) Fastener recommendations Preferred Qualifications Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience Experience designing consumer electronics enclosures Experience with camera systems, robotics, drones, PTZ systems, or embedded hardware Experience preparing designs for 3D printing and manufacturing To Apply Please provide: Relevant enclosure or hardware projects CAD software used Estimated timeline Fixed-price quote or hourly rate Potential for additional work on future hardware revisions and production designs.
