Mechanical Engineer (PE Preferred) | Review, Correct & Finalize Commercial Permit Drawings

I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with commercial HVAC and permit experience to review, correct, and finalize an existing mechanical plan set for a commercial childcare facility in Prince George's County, Maryland. The plans have already been drafted. I recently had them reviewed by a senior technical reviewer familiar with the DPIE permitting process, and I now have a consolidated list of technical corrections that need to be incorporated into the drawings. This is not a drafting project from scratch. It is a technical coordination and quality assurance project. Experience with commercial permit drawings, IMC 2018, IECC 2018, and childcare facilities is highly preferred. # Mechanical CAD Revision Checklist ## General * [ ] Review all reviewer markups and incorporate every comment. * [ ] Coordinate all mechanical sheets with the architectural drawings. * [ ] Verify all room names match the architectural plans. * [ ] Verify all dimensions, duct sizes, schedules, and notes are consistent. * [ ] Add engineer contact information (company, address, phone, email, license information if required). --- # Mechanical Floor Plans ### Room Updates * [ ] Rename Infant Area to Lobby. * [ ] Rename Diaper/Breastfeeding Room to Storage. Must be consistent with Archetecture Drawing layout. * [ ] Rename Break Room to Office. * [ ] Update all room names in ventilation schedules and calculations. ### Wall & Partition Details * [ ] Add Typical Existing Exterior Wall Section. * [ ] Add Typical Interior Partition Detail. * [ ] Add Typical Toilet Partition Detail. * [ ] Add Typical Duct Penetration Through Wall Detail. * [ ] Add Fire Damper Detail for fire-rated walls. * [ ] Add Non-Rated Wall Penetration Detail where walls are not fire-rated. ### Fire & Smoke Protection * [ ] Verify all fire-rated walls. * [ ] Remove unnecessary fire dampers from non-rated walls. * [ ] Add fire dampers only where required by code. * [ ] Add smoke detectors in supply and return ducts. * [ ] Add 3D control detail where required. ### Exhaust & Ventilation * [ ] Add exhaust fan for restroom only if required. * [ ] Verify exhaust fan locations. * [ ] Verify exhaust duct routing. * [ ] Verify toilet exhaust calculations. * [ ] Revise exhaust fan schedule to 70 CFM per plumbing fixture where applicable. * [ ] Add exhaust air opening protection detail per IMC 2018 Section 501.3.2. ### Ductwork * [ ] Verify duct penetration through structural columns. * [ ] Verify supply and return duct routing. * [ ] Verify balancing dampers. * [ ] Verify outside air quantities. --- # Ventilation Schedule * [ ] Update occupant loads using actual code-required occupant counts. * [ ] Revise ventilation calculations. * [ ] Remove ASHRAE 62.1 reference if not adopted by the project code. * [ ] Use IMC 2018 ventilation requirements. * [ ] Verify outside air calculations. * [ ] Verify exhaust air calculations. * [ ] Verify total airflow matches equipment schedule. --- # Equipment Schedule * [ ] Update rooftop unit schedule based on revised outside air calculations. * [ ] Revise minimum outside air values. * [ ] Verify cooling capacity. * [ ] Verify heating capacity. * [ ] Verify airflow values. * [ ] Verify equipment model numbers. --- # Economizer * [ ] Verify economizer is required by IECC. * [ ] Indicate economizer type. * [ ] Add economizer control sequence. * [ ] Verify outside air temperature settings. --- # Mechanical Notes * [ ] Remove notes that reference non-applicable standards. * [ ] Update all code references to IMC 2018 and IECC 2018. * [ ] Remove incorrect ASHRAE references if not required. * [ ] Verify all general notes match the final design. --- # Schedules * [ ] Verify Fire Damper Schedule. * [ ] Verify Smoke Damper Schedule. * [ ] Verify Exhaust Fan Schedule. * [ ] Verify Air Terminal Schedule. * [ ] Verify Ventilation Schedule. * [ ] Verify Equipment Schedule. --- # Quality Control * [ ] Verify every reviewer comment has been addressed. * [ ] Remove all drafting inconsistencies. * [ ] Verify cross-sheet coordination. * [ ] Verify all room tags match. * [ ] Verify all schedules match plan callouts. * [ ] Verify all code references are correct. * [ ] Verify all calculations are updated. * [ ] Cloud all revisions. * [ ] Submit updated DWG files. * [ ] Submit updated PDF plan set. * [ ] Provide a written response indicating how each reviewer comment was resolved.
