Mechanical Product Engineer – CAD + Prototype Development

We are developing a **compact automatic/retractable seat-cover accessory for motorcycles and scooters**, primarily for the **Indian two-wheeler market**. We already have the product concept and visual designs. We are looking for an experienced **Mechanical/Product Design Engineer based in India** who can take the concept through **engineering → CAD → functional prototype**. ## Responsibilities * Review our concept and determine the best mechanical approach. * Design the **cover deployment and automatic retraction mechanism**. * Develop complete 3D CAD and mechanical assemblies. * Design the compact enclosure, roller/mechanism, mounting system, and internal components. * Select suitable motors, gears, springs, sensors, bearings, etc. * Consider motorcycle **vibration, heat, rain, dust, durability, and outdoor use**. * Source components/materials available in India. * Build or coordinate fabrication of a **working physical prototype**. * Test the mechanism and improve the design based on results. * Optimize the design for future mass manufacturing. ## Deliverables * Complete 3D CAD + source files * STEP/STL files * Engineering drawings * Bill of Materials (BOM) * Component/material recommendations * Functional physical prototype * Final CAD after prototype testing ## Ideal Experience We prefer someone with experience in: * Mechanical / product engineering * SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, CATIA, etc. * Electromechanical products * Motors, gears, rollers, springs, and retractable mechanisms * Automotive or two-wheeler accessories * 3D printing / CNC / rapid prototyping * DFM and manufacturing **Important:** We are not looking for only a CAD designer or 3D rendering specialist. We need someone who can **engineer, build, test, and improve a real working product.** ### When Applying Please share **2–3 examples of products you personally took from concept/CAD to a physical prototype**.
