Media Relations Strategist — Position Founder as Go-To Expert Source

Quiet Departure is a private relocation advisory service for affluent Americans. We're hiring a media relations strategist to position our founder as a go-to expert source for journalists covering relocation, wealth migration, immigration policy, and sovereign risk. About the founder: Former senior U.S. national security official with extensive on-record media experience representing the U.S. government, plus a background as an advertising agency executive. Previously featured in CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, NBC, and The New York Times. Deep expertise in geopolitical risk analysis and relocation strategy. Available on minimal notice for interviews, quotes, and on-air appearances — a low-friction, media-trained source. The goal: This is not story pitching. Your job is to make sure the reporters, editors, and producers who cover these beats know who our founder is, understand his expertise, and call him first when they need an expert voice. Placements matter because he's the quoted expert in someone else's story — not because we placed a byline. Success metric: One to two confirmed expert placements per month — quotes, interviews, or on-air appearances — in tier-one or established, high-reach tier-two outlets. What we're looking for: Real, current relationships with national media covering business, policy, wealth, and geopolitics. You bring your own toolkit and contacts — we are not building or funding PR infrastructure on our side. Media database experience (Cision, Muck Rack) is a plus, but relationships beat databases. Engagement: Project-based, roughly 10 hours per month to start, with room to expand based on results. No retainer commitment up front. We move fast and expect the same.
