Microsoft Copilot Automation Engineer (Business Process Automation)

About the Project We're looking for an experienced Microsoft Copilot specialist to help us implement Copilot across our business operations. The goal is to streamline repetitive workflows, automate document and data handling, and connect Copilot to our existing Microsoft 365 environment so our team can work faster with fewer manual steps. This is a great fit for someone who has hands-on experience with Copilot for Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Power Platform (Power Apps/Power Automate/Power BI), Copilot Studio, and the Microsoft Graph API. What We Need Help With Mapping our current business processes and identifying automation opportunities within Microsoft 365 Setting up and configuring Copilot across Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint Building custom Copilot agents/plugins (via Copilot Studio) for recurring tasks specific to our business Creating Power Automate flows to connect Copilot with our other tools (CRM, document storage, approval workflows, notifications) Setting up Excel/Power BI automations for reporting and data analysis Configuring permissions, data governance, and security settings appropriately (Microsoft Purview/compliance basics) Integrating Copilot/Power Automate with external business applications, including QuickBooks, Contractor Foreman, ConnectWise, and similar platforms (via native connectors, Power Platform custom connectors, or middleware) Analyzing our current ERP system(s) and recommending reconfiguration/adjustments needed to support future automation (data structure, access/permissions, API availability, reporting exports, etc.) Documentation and light training so our internal team can maintain and extend the setup after handoff Ideal Skills & Experience Proven experience implementing Copilot for Microsoft 365 in a business setting Hands-on experience with Copilot Studio (building custom copilots/agents) Power Automate / Power Platform experience (flows, connectors, approvals) Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and SharePoint/Teams architecture Understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing tiers and what's required for the features we need Experience integrating with QuickBooks, Contractor Foreman, ConnectWise, or comparable accounting/PSA/construction management platforms (via Power Platform custom connectors or middleware) Experience analyzing and reconfiguring ERP systems/data structures to prepare them for automation and AI integration Strong communication skills — able to explain technical setups in plain language Prior freelance/consulting experience automating processes for small businesses is a plus
