Senior Computer Vision & Embedded Systems Consultant (Raspberry Pi / Edge AI / 3D Sensing)

We are developing an innovative waste and recycling monitoring solution for residential buildings in Sweden. We are looking for a highly experienced consultant to review, validate, and guide the technical architecture of our prototype and help us make the right technology decisions before moving toward production. Project Scope - Raspberry Pi 5 edge processing - ESP32-S3 sensor controller - Stereo camera setup - Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensing - Laser triangulation - Computer vision-based volume estimation - Cloud-based AI/VLM integration for waste classification We need an expert who can evaluate the proposed architecture, identify risks, recommend improvements, and help define a scalable technology stack. Responsibilities - Review and validate the overall system architecture - Assess feasibility of stereo vision, ToF sensing, and laser triangulation approaches - Recommend optimal hardware and software stack - Design a robust edge-processing architecture - Advise on sensor fusion and volume measurement techniques - Recommend data pipelines between edge devices and cloud services - Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies - Define a roadmap from prototype to production Required Skills Computer Vision OpenCV Embedded Systems Raspberry Pi Sensor Fusion Stereo Vision Depth Sensing / 3D Reconstruction Python C++ Edge AI Linux Preferred Experience Robotics perception systems Industrial machine vision Smart sensors and IoT devices Computer vision products deployed in real-world environments Experience working with camera calibration and depth estimation AI/VLM integrations (Gemini, OpenAI, etc.) Deliverables Architecture review document Technology stack recommendations Risk assessment Prototype improvement recommendations High-level production architecture
