Summary

MEP Engineering Description / Scope of Services Provide complete Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering design documents for the proposed commercial addition. All MEP drawings, calculations, specifications, and required documentation shall be prepared, reviewed, signed, and sealed by properly licensed professional engineers in the State of Ohio. The MEP engineer shall review the architectural and structural drawings, existing building conditions, utility connections, and all county engineering review comments. The final MEP design shall address and incorporate all county engineering revisions, plan review comments, code compliance requirements, and coordination items necessary for permit approval and construction. The scope shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Mechanical Engineering Design and specification of the complete HVAC system for the commercial addition, including equipment sizing, heating and cooling load calculations, ductwork layout, ventilation requirements, exhaust requirements, outside air calculations, equipment schedules, controls, energy code compliance, and coordination with architectural and structural plans. Mechanical design shall comply with applicable Ohio Building Code, Ohio Mechanical Code, Ohio Energy Code, local county requirements, and all applicable industry standards. Electrical Engineering Design and specification of the complete electrical system for the commercial addition, including power distribution, panel schedules, load calculations, lighting layout, emergency/egress lighting where required, receptacle layout, equipment connections, grounding, service coordination, electrical riser/one-line diagrams as required, and coordination with existing electrical service capacity. Electrical design shall comply with the current National Electrical Code as adopted in Ohio, Ohio Building Code, local county requirements, utility requirements, and all applicable safety and permitting standards. Plumbing Engineering Design and specification of the complete plumbing system for the commercial addition, including domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, venting, gas piping if applicable, fixture schedules, water heater sizing if required, floor drains or cleanouts where required, connection to existing systems, and coordination with site utility requirements. Plumbing design shall comply with the Ohio Plumbing Code, Ohio Building Code, local county health/building department requirements, and all applicable utility and engineering standards. County Engineering Revisions and Compliance The MEP engineer shall review and respond to all county engineering comments related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utility connections, drainage coordination, energy compliance, equipment locations, fire/life safety coordination, and any other MEP-related permitting requirements. The final sealed MEP package shall include all revisions necessary to satisfy county plan review comments and shall be coordinated with the full construction document set. Any conflict between architectural, structural, civil, or MEP drawings shall be identified and corrected prior to final submission. Deliverables The MEP engineering package shall include: Complete sealed Mechanical drawings Complete sealed Electrical drawings Complete sealed Plumbing drawings MEP specifications and equipment schedules Required calculations and code compliance documentation Responses or revisions addressing county engineering comments Permit-ready stamped drawings by Ohio-licensed professional engineers All work shall be prepared for commercial permit submission and shall be suitable for construction, inspection, and approval by the applicable county and local authorities.
