Optical Crystal Facet Designer – Production-Ready STL & STEP Files
Worldwide
We are looking for a specialist optical crystal designer to convert an existing approved render into a production-ready 3D model. The concept direction is already finalized. This is not a creative concept or rendering role. We do not need a new design direction or a better visual render. The scope is to translate the approved visual into a technically accurate, faceted crystal CAD model with proper cutting angles, clean facet structure, non-overlapping surfaces, and polish-ready geometry. The final files must be suitable for factory sampling and production, delivered in both STL and STEP formats. Scope of Work 1. Convert the existing approved render into a production-ready 3D model. (The render will be provided as a visual reference, not as a base mesh to modify.) 2. Design clean and balanced crystal facet lines that follow the product form naturally * Avoid random, messy, or overly low-poly facet treatment * Ensure facet direction, cutting angles, surface proportion, and polishing areas support good light reflection * Adjust the model according to factory production requirements * Prepare accurate STL and STEP files for sampling and manufacturing WHAT YOU ARE NOT DOING 1. Creating a new concept or artistic render 2. Redesigning the product shape 3. Proposing alternative design directions 4. Delivering visual-only mockups or non-manufacturable files Requirements: 1. Proven experience in optical crystal, glass, or faceted crystal product design 2. Strong understanding of crystal cutting logic, facet geometry, and light reflection 3. Ability to create elegant, production-friendly facet structures 4. Proficiency in Rhino, ZBrush, Blender, 3ds Max, SolidWorks, JewelCAD, or similar CAD software 5. Ability to prepare watertight STL and manufacturable STEP files 6. Willingness to work with factory feedback and make practical revisions Deliverable's 1. Refined production-ready 3D model in native CAD format 2. STL file with watertight geometry 3. STEP file suitable for factory review and production 4. Facet structure suitable for crystal cutting and polishing 5. Revisions based on factory feedback, up to an agreed number of rounds To Apply: 1. Please send a relevant portfolio, especially work involving optical crystal, glass décor, faceted figurines, trophies, luxury gifts, or similar production-ready products. 2. Please also highlight any models that have gone into actual manufacturing.
