Payroll & AP Manager needed for parental leave coverage

About the Role Nimble Robotics is looking for a part-time (20 hours/week) Finance Operations contractor to provide coverage during a team member's parental leave. This is a hands-on execution role to maintain our AP, Payroll, and Expense Management processes, while our Finance Operations Manager is out on leave until December 31, 2026. We are looking for someone who can step in and follow our existing workflows and policies accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): - Process invoices accurately and on schedule; coordinate with vendors as needed - Perform invoice auditing to catch errors and prevent duplicate or incorrect payments - Match purchase orders to invoices and confirm receipt of goods/services with internal stakeholders - Maintain AP liability tracking and support month-end accrual entries Payroll: - Support bi-weekly payroll processing and audits in coordination with HR and managers - Validate timesheets and flag anomalies in hours worked - Ensure payroll-related deadlines (tax filings, W2s, 1099s) stay on track during the coverage period Expense Management: - Review submitted expense reports against Nimble's expense policy - Flag non-compliant submissions and communicate directly with employees for corrections Qualifications - 4+ years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and/or Payroll operations - Comfortable working independently with minimal ramp-up time - Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls; Ramp, Netsuite, and Rippling experience strongly preferred to reduce onboarding time - Detail-oriented, accurate, and reliable with recurring deadlines (payroll cycles, AP payment runs) - Clear, responsive communicator — you'll be coordinating with HR, department managers, and vendors without a lot of day-to-day oversight - Available for a consistent 20 hrs/week for the duration of the coverage period - Prior experience specifically covering for a leave or transition period is a plus
