Upwork Job Post Title: Phaser Developer Needed for 2D Pixel Art Sprite Animation Implementation We’re looking for a developer with experience implementing 2D pixel art assets and sprite animations in a browser-based game built with Phaser. The game is already in development, and we need help bringing character, enemy, item, and environment sprites to life inside the existing Phaser project. Responsibilities: Import and organize 2D pixel art assets, spritesheets, and animation frames Implement sprite animations in Phaser Set up idle, walk/run, attack, hit, death, interaction, and environmental animations Tune animation timing, frame rates, anchors, scaling, and transitions Integrate animations with existing gameplay states and controls Help troubleshoot visual issues such as jitter, incorrect frame alignment, scaling artifacts, or animation state bugs Maintain clean, reusable Phaser animation code Ideal experience: Strong hands-on experience with Phaser, preferably Phaser 3 Experience with 2D browser-based games Comfortable working with pixel art assets and spritesheets Understanding of sprite animation states and game loops Familiarity with texture atlases, frame data, and asset pipelines Ability to work with an existing codebase and follow current project structure Bonus: experience with Aseprite exports, Tiled maps, or arcade-style action games Please include: Examples of Phaser or browser-based 2D games you’ve worked on Any examples involving pixel art sprite animations A short description of how you typically structure animation states in Phaser Your hourly rate or fixed-price estimate Your availability over the next 1-2 weeks We’re looking for someone detail-oriented who can make pixel art animations feel polished, responsive, and consistent across the game.
