Summary

We are looking for a US-based Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Plumbing to support us with reviewing and improving an existing Plumbing Skills assessment (50 questions). ________________________________________ Scope of work The expert will be responsible for reviewing existing questions for: • Clarity and technical precision • Linguistic accuracy • Linguistic simplification to adjust questions for younger audience • Relevance to real-world plumbing tasks and the US regulatory/code environment • Correctness of technical terminology • Quality of distractors and answer options • Appropriate difficulty levels (especially for entry-level candidates) ________________________________________ The collaboration will be structured in clear stages: Step 1: High-level subject review & structure Propose a detailed list of key subtopics that should be covered within Plumbing Skills Review our existing question bank and assess whether: • all essential topics are covered • any important topics are missing In case any gaps are identified in the existing question bank: recommend the number of new questions per subtopic, aligned with U.S. trade education and industry expectations Identify outdated, unclear, or technically incorrect questions Recommend content improvements or structural adjustments Review the first 10 questions in provided template Step 2: Detailed question bank analysis Review all existing questions and: • correct linguistic, factual or technical inaccuracies • identify outdated, unclear, or incorrect questions and rewrite them • recommend questions to be removed if necessary • suggest visual elements where they would improve understanding • align questions with modern plumbing practices and terminology Step 3: Optional additional milestone (paid separately) Create new questions to: • cover missing subtopics • expand areas with insufficient coverage Step 4: Final adjustments, two assessment blueprints Using our two Test Blueprint templates, select 40 questions (from existing and newly created ones) to form the final assessments for the subject. ________________________________________ Cooperation Model The expert will work in close collaboration with our Content Specialist. Regular consultations and feedback rounds are expected. All work will follow internal assessment development guidelines. Planned project duration: 3–4 weeks. ________________________________________ Documentation Before starting the work (after signing the contract), the expert will be required to sign: • a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) • Ethical AI Use Guidelines ________________________________________ Tools Expert is expected to use provided templates. Use of MS Word and MS Excel will be expected. ________________________________________ Ideal candidate • Based in the United States • Strong background in plumbing (trade experience, instruction, or both) • Active state-issued Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred • Familiarity with U.S. plumbing codes, standards, and terminology (IPC, UPC, OSHA) • Experience in reviewing educational or assessment content • Ability to translate expert trade knowledge into clear, beginner-level concepts • High attention to accuracy and content quality • Experience with test or question design is a strong plus ________________________________________ Additional notes If you are a licensed plumbing professional with a passion for education and quality assessment, we'd love to hear from you.
