Product Researcher — Trend & Demand Specialist (German / DACH Market)

Summary

Type: Contract · Remote · Part-time to full-time Focus: E-commerce product research · Google search demand · German (DACH) market About us We run a portfolio of e-commerce webshops powered by Google Ads. Each store carries thousands of products, and we list new ones continuously. Our edge is speed and selection: we find products people are already searching for on Google, list them fast, and let demand do the rest. We sell primarily into the German market (DACH region), so a deep, instinctive feel for what German consumers want — and what they'll want next — is the heart of this role. The role We're looking for an experienced Product Researcher who can consistently spot products that will trend in the coming months before they peak, validate that real Google search demand exists behind them, and filter out the products that look great but won't hold up — poor quality, unrealistic margins, or "too good to be true" offers that lead to returns, chargebacks, and bad reviews. This is a research-and-judgment role, not data entry. Your picks need to reliably convert into search traffic and profitable sales — not just look good in a trends chart. What you'll do Research and identify products with rising or established Google search demand in the German/DACH market. Forecast upcoming trends and seasonal demand 1–6 months ahead, and flag products before they saturate. Screen out weak picks: spot quality red flags, unrealistic pricing, saturated/scammy products, and items likely to generate returns or disputes. Validate demand using Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, and search-volume / keyword tools. Deliver a weekly shortlist of vetted, high-conviction products with search volume, seasonality, competition, and a short rationale per product. Track competitors and marketplaces (Amazon.de, Otto, Kaufland, eBay.de) and German social/shopping trends. Work closely with our Google Ads and listing teams so winning products get to market fast. How we think about volume We'd rather have a smaller list of genuinely vetted winners than a long list of noise. If you can also surface a wider stream of "fast signal" candidates on top of your high-conviction picks, great — but the deeply researched shortlist is what we judge you on. We'll align on realistic weekly targets together. What you bring Proven track record in e-commerce product research, trend spotting, or dropshipping/retail sourcing — with results you can point to. Strong feel for the German/DACH market: consumer behaviour, seasonality, and language nuance. Native or fluent German strongly preferred; if you're not a German speaker, show us how you compensate for that. Hands-on skill with Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, and search-volume tools; comfortable reading keyword and demand data. Judgment on quality and risk — you can tell the difference between a fad, a trend, and an evergreen, and you know which "winners" to walk away from. Self-directed, data-driven, and comfortable in a fast-moving remote team. Nice to have Experience with Google Ads / Shopping campaigns. Familiarity with Shopify or similar platforms. Knowledge of German marketplace ecosystems and import/sourcing channels. Compensation We're flexible and pay for results. As a guide, we're budgeting roughly [€/$X–Y per hour] depending on experience, with room to grow for someone whose picks consistently perform. Tell us your expectation. How to apply Send us: A short note on your product-research experience and the German market. 3 products you believe will trend in DACH over the next 3 months — with the Google search data that backs each pick. 1 product that looks like a winner but that you would deliberately avoid — and why. Your availability and rate expectation. The product test (points 2 and 3) is the part we read first. Show us how you think — both what you'd chase and what you'd reject.
