PV Project Estimating

The Role You'll be the estimating engine behind our sales pipeline — turning site plans, RFQs, and customer specs into accurate bills of material and pricing for racking, tracker, and installation scopes. You'll work directly with our BD team and leadership, often on tight proposal deadlines. Responsibilities Perform material take-offs from site plans, layouts, and single-line drawings for ground mount, rooftop, carport, and single-axis tracker projects Develop detailed bills of material (BOMs) and cost build-ups for racking and installation scopes Prepare indicative and firm pricing in $/W and lump-sum formats using our internal pricing tools and templates Respond to RFQs and support proposal packages, including scope clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions Incorporate site-specific factors: wind and snow loads, soil conditions, terrain/grading, module selection, and foundation type Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes (steel, hardware, freight, installation labor) Maintain estimate logs and support win/loss and margin analysis Coordinate with engineering on design assumptions that drive cost Required Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in solar — racking, trackers, or solar EPC/installation strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and electrical drawings and site layouts Strong command of Excel (formulas, lookups, structured cost models) Working knowledge of $/W benchmarking across project size tiers (DG through utility-scale) Understanding of foundation types (driven pile, ground screw, ballast) and how site conditions affect cost Excellent written English and responsiveness — you'll be supporting live deals with deadlines Available to overlap at least 4 hours/day with U.S. Eastern Time Nice to Have Experience with single-axis tracker BOMs and pricing AutoCAD, PVcase, PVsyst, or similar layout/design tools Prior work with racking manufacturers or as an owner's/EPC estimator Familiarity with prevailing wage / domestic content considerations on U.S. projects To Apply Please include: A brief summary of 2–3 solar projects you've estimated (project size in MW, scope, and your role) Which racking or tracker systems you've worked with Your typical turnaround time for an indicative estimate on a 5 MW ground mount project Your hourly rate and weekly availability
