Quant Needed to Improve a Stock-Movement Reasoning Framework

This may appear to be a substantial assignment, but it is intended as the beginning of a broader, ongoing engagement around this framework. We expect to continue expanding and improving it over time, particularly with the person who helps us overcome the immediate challenge of handling days when no clear company-specific catalyst exists. Upon successful completion, payment will be provided, along with a very positive review and the opportunity for much broader future projects with significantly higher budgets. So I am developing a system that can assign possible reasons or influencing factors to daily stock-price movements. In simpler cases, the explanation may be clear. For example, if a company announces that an executive has resigned and the stock moves shortly afterward, that event could be identified as a possible catalyst and automatically captured by our data. The goal is to identify and rank the most plausible catalysts and influencing factors using the information available at that time. ChatGPT has already proposed a compelling framework and several advanced approaches, so I am not looking for someone to create the concept from scratch. The more difficult objective is refining the framework as to how to handle days when no obvious company-specific event exists. On those days, a stock may be influenced by broader market movement, sector activity, competitor news, analyst actions, economic releases, interest rates, options activity, regulatory developments, commodities, currencies, or several factors at once. The main objective is to apply our available data to that framework in order to: -Improve and expand it -Rank possible factors more effectively -Produce more consistent and structured explanations I will include a file outlining the large catalog of raw stock and market data available to us. Not all of it needs to be used. The file is mainly intended to demonstrate the sheer amount and variety of data that could potentially support the framework. This assignment is intended as the first step in a broader ongoing engagement. We hope to continue working with the person who helps us solve the immediate challenge of handling days without a clear company-specific catalyst.
