SQL Server Datacenter Migration Specialist

Description: 1. Assess the existing SQL Server estate, including databases, logins, SQL Agent jobs, linked servers, SSIS/SSRS dependencies, backup strategy, HA/DR setup, storage requirements, and application connectivity. 2. Develop a migration strategy for approximately 150 SQL Server servers and 200 TB of data, including migration waves, sequencing, risk assessment, downtime planning, and rollback approach. 3. Create detailed migration runbooks, cutover checklists, validation steps, and rollback procedures. 4. Automate repeatable migration tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, dbatools, or similar automation frameworks. 5. Support SQL Server migrations using backup/restore, log shipping, Always On Availability Groups, replication, Azure migration tools, or other suitable methods. 6. Assist with Azure migration planning, including networking, security, backup, monitoring, sizing, performance, and cost considerations. 7. Migrate server-level objects such as logins, users, SQL Agent jobs, credentials, linked servers, certificates, encryption keys, and configuration settings. 8. Perform pre- and post-migration validation, including DBCC checks, row counts, application smoke testing, performance comparison, Query Store review, and monitoring.
