Seeking an experienced researcher to support a nonfiction book currently in development. The book explores themes including women's identity, ambition, family dynamics, relationships, friendship, caregiving, societal expectations, life transitions, and the evolving definitions of success and fulfillment in modern society. This is a narrative-driven book intended for a general audience, not an academic text. The goal is to identify credible research, statistics, studies, expert perspectives, and cultural trends that can strengthen and support chapter content while remaining accessible to readers. The preferred candidate will work alongside the writing process, providing targeted research support, source identification, fact-checking, and chapter-specific research briefs as needs arise. Responsibilities: * Conduct targeted research on assigned topics * Locate and summarize peer-reviewed studies, surveys, books, reports, and credible media sources * Identify relevant statistics and demographic trends * Prepare concise, well-organized research briefs *Fact-check specific manuscript claims * Maintain organized source documentation Backgrounds in any of these areas are welcome: * Sociology * Psychology * Gender Studies * Family Studies * Public Policy * Demography * Journalism * Social Science Research * Nonfiction Research Ideal Candidate: * Excellent researcher and writer * Strong analytical and synthesis skills * Able to distinguish high-quality sources from weak or opinion-based sources * Comfortable translating complex findings into clear, accessible language * Organized, responsive, and reliable * Able to work independently with minimal supervision Project Details: * Immediate start preferred * Remote * Work will be assigned on a rolling, chapter-by-chapter basis * Research requests will vary in scope and frequency throughout the project * Timely turnaround on assignments is important * Engagement is expected to continue through completion of the manuscript's first draft, currently targeted for late Summer/early Fall 2026 * NDA required To Apply: Please provide: 1.
