We are looking for an experienced relationship-driven sales professional to help follow up with business owners who have already been contacted by our outreach team and have shown some level of interest in selling, recapitalizing, or exploring an investment in their company. This is not a cold-calling role. We already have a team handling initial outbound calls. Your job is to re-engage warm business owner leads, build rapport, understand their motivations, and guide them toward sharing enough information for us to evaluate whether a deal makes sense. The ideal candidate has experience speaking with business owners, founders, CEOs, or senior decision-makers and knows how to build trust without sounding scripted, aggressive, or transactional. Responsibilities Follow up with warm business owner leads who have already been contacted Build rapport and trust with owners, founders, and operators Understand the owner’s goals, timing, business situation, and potential interest in a sale or investment Guide conversations toward collecting key information such as revenue, EBITDA, customer concentration, industry, growth trends, ownership goals, and transition plans Encourage qualified owners to share financials or schedule a deeper diligence call Maintain clean notes and updates in the CRM Identify which opportunities are real, which are too early, and which are not a fit Work independently with minimal supervision and improve the process over time What We Are Looking For Strong experience in B2B sales, private equity origination, M&A, business brokerage, investment banking outreach, or high-trust founder/owner sales Excellent phone presence and written communication Ability to speak confidently with business owners without sounding like a telemarketer Strong judgment and ability to qualify opportunities Self-starter who does not need hand-holding Comfortable discussing business performance, financials, ownership goals, and potential transaction interest Organized, consistent, and able to follow up professionally over multiple touchpoints This Role Is Not For You If You only have experience with scripted cold calling You need constant supervision or daily direction You are uncomfortable speaking with business owners about financials You are overly aggressive or use pushy sales tactics You cannot manage follow-up discipline and CRM hygiene Ideal Background Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Private equity business development M&A origination Business brokerage Investment banking outreach B2B founder sales Executive-level relationship sales SMB acquisition sourcing Goal of the Role The goal is to convert warm owner interest into qualified acquisition or investment opportunities by getting owners comfortable enough to share financials, discuss their goals, and move into a serious evaluation process.
