Summary

Role Title: Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller – QuickBooks Online Expert (Controller-Level) Role Overview: We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller with deep QuickBooks Online expertise to take ownership of our accounting environment. This is a controller-level execution role focused on maintaining accurate books, processing transactions correctly, owning monthly close, and ensuring financials are fully reconciled and CPA-ready. The ideal candidate is an expert-level QBO user who understands not only how to enter transactions, but how those transactions ultimately flow through the balance sheet, P&L, tax preparation process, and financial reporting. While we are currently involved in an M&A process, the primary focus of this role is accounting execution, financial accuracy, and maintaining a clean accounting environment. M&A and data room support are secondary responsibilities. Core Responsibilities: • Full ownership of the QuickBooks Online environment • Process and review day-to-day accounting transactions • Maintain accurate general ledger activity • Complete monthly close process • Perform full balance sheet reconciliations • Ensure P&L reporting is accurate and consistent • Review and correct accounting treatment where necessary • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules • Maintain CPA-ready books for tax preparation and year-end review • Work directly with management and external CPA firms Operational Responsibilities: • Review and process accounts payable transactions • Review accounts receivable activity and customer billing records • Ensure payroll entries are recorded correctly • Maintain clean and organized accounting records • Identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively • Improve accounting processes and reporting consistency where appropriate M&A / Data Room Responsibilities: • Refine and maintain a structured data room • Organize financial information for diligence requests • Develop revenue and expense breakdowns as required • Ensure supporting schedules tie directly to financial statements • Assist management and advisors during the diligence process • Help ensure financial information is transaction-ready and buyer-ready Requirements: • 7+ years accounting experience • Advanced QuickBooks Online expertise (required) • Strong US GAAP knowledge • Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant experience • Demonstrated experience owning monthly close • Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience • Experience preparing books for CPA review and tax preparation • Advanced Excel skills • Strong attention to detail • Ability to work independently and take ownership Preferred: • CPA designation or CPA-track background • SaaS or technology company experience • Experience supporting M&A transactions or diligence processes • Experience building or maintaining data rooms • Experience working with external investors, buyers, auditors, or advisors Engagement: Fractional role with immediate start. Primary objective is to maintain clean, reconciled, CPA-ready books while ensuring financial information is organized and transaction-ready for ongoing M&A activities.
