Senior Accountant, Internal Accounting (Remote, Full-Time) | Finance & Operations

We're hiring a Senior Accountant to do that work inside URSA itself: own our internal books, run AR and AP, and turn the numbers into reporting leadership can act on. We're an AI-forward team. We use Claude across our day-to-day, and we want someone who already works this way, using AI to move faster with the judgment to check what it hands back. This is hands-on and execution-heavy on a lean team. High ownership, direct lines to leadership, and a "see it, own it, fix it" mindset. This is your seat, not a side gig, advisory, or consulting engagement 40 hours per week Remote, working US hours (Philippines strongly preferred; SEA or LATAM welcome) Rate: USD $10/hr, based on your experience High autonomy, direct communication, steady follow-through What you'll own Day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks (QBO preferred) AR and AP end to end, including Bill.com and Ramp Month-end close: reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, intercompany as needed Billing, vendor payments, fixed assets, clean GL coding Accurate financials and supporting schedules, with strong documentation and controls Reporting leadership can act on Practical weekly and monthly reporting built in Excel and Google Sheets from our accounting data (P&L, cash visibility, variance, KPI trends) Better data hygiene: consistent chart of accounts, mapping, naming, close checklists Process you'll improve Spot the bottlenecks and build repeatable SOPs (close calendar, approvals, reconciliations, reporting cadence) Flag risks early and drive issues to resolution without being chased What we're looking for Must-haves: 3+ years of hands-on senior accounting, ideally at small or mid-sized companies or firms where you personally ran the books Strong QuickBooks, month-end close, reconciliations, JEs, AR/AP, fixed assets Hands-on with Bill.com and Ramp, or fast to learn them Solid Excel and Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, structured models) and real comfort with messy data Comfortable using AI as a working tool (we use Claude), with the judgment to verify what it produces Communicative by default: you raise questions when something is unclear and surface issues early Sharp attention to detail and real ownership of timelines and accuracy Available full-time and committed to this as your sole role Nice-to-haves: US client / US GAAP experience Gusto, Airtable or Notion, or similar Light FP&A: variance analysis, cash forecasting, simple budgeting The first 90 days (probationary) This role starts with a 90-day probationary period. It's a two-way fit check: you get to see how we work, and we evaluate both the quality of your work and how you operate day to day, communication, ownership, and attitude. By the end, here's what strong performance looks like: Close runs on a predictable calendar with clean reconciliations AR and AP run cleanly through Bill.com and Ramp with nothing slipping Leadership has a small set of reliable reports they actually use (P&L, cash, key metrics) Clear SOPs exist for the recurring accounting and reporting work Completing the 90 days is not an automatic move to permanent. Continuing past probation is decided at the end, based on overall performance and fit.
