Senior Architect — Ressa Design Collective About the Role Ressa Design Collective is looking for an experienced architect to join our team, with a strong background in permitting and a versatile portfolio spanning residential projects, restaurant design, furniture placement and spatial planning, and retail pop-up concepts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and can move fluidly between long-term residential builds and fast-turnaround commercial activations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the permitting process across residential, commercial, and temporary-use projects, including coordination with local jurisdictions, zoning boards, and inspectors Design and oversee residential architecture projects from concept through construction documentation Develop restaurant layouts that balance code compliance (egress, ADA, health department requirements) with guest experience and operational flow Plan furniture placement and spatial layouts for both residential and commercial clients, considering traffic flow, functionality, and aesthetic intent Design and execute retail pop-up concepts, including temporary structures, signage, and fast-build solutions Collaborate with interior designers, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent carries through to execution Prepare and review architectural drawings, permit sets, and construction documents Stay current on local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program Licensed architect (or actively pursuing licensure) preferred 5+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated work across residential and commercial/retail projects Proven track record successfully navigating permit applications and approvals Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) Strong understanding of furniture layout principles and spatial design for hospitality or retail environments Excellent communication skills for client-facing and cross-team collaboration Ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines, from quick pop-up turnarounds to longer residential builds What We Offer Collaborative studio environment with a diverse project portfolio Opportunity to shape both creative direction and practical execution across project types [Add: compensation range, location/remote policy, benefits]
