Senior Backend Engineer — Full-Time | Python | EST Hours

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to work with us full-time on backend systems supporting data-processing and analytical applications. This is a long-term, hands-on engineering role for someone who can take ownership of backend development, solve complex technical problems, and communicate clearly with the team. Compensation & Schedule $1,000 USD/month Full-time position Must be available to work consistently during EST business hours Long-term opportunity for the right candidate Required Computer Setup You must have your own reliable Windows development machine with: Windows OS NVIDIA RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 GPU Reliable high-speed internet connection Stable environment suitable for full-time development work Please do not apply if you do not have an RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Windows machine. Communication Requirements Strong spoken and written English Clear pronunciation and professional verbal communication Comfortable participating in regular voice/video meetings Able to explain technical issues clearly and collaborate effectively with the team Responsibilities You will: Design and develop scalable backend systems Build reliable REST APIs, WebSocket services, and integrations Develop asynchronous and long-running processing workflows Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and data models Work with Elasticsearch or similar search/NoSQL technologies Implement caching using Redis or similar technologies Build asynchronous processing systems using Celery, RQ, or similar tools Implement authentication, authorization, and application-security best practices Build and maintain Docker-based applications Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability issues Participate in code reviews and architectural decisions Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code Collaborate with frontend, data, DevOps, and other engineering team members Required Technical Skills You should have strong professional experience with: Python Django/DRF, Flask, FastAPI, Sanic, or similar Python frameworks PostgreSQL Elasticsearch or similar technologies Docker REST APIs WebSockets Redis Celery, RQ, or similar asynchronous/task-queue systems Authentication and authorization Git and collaborative development workflows Software design patterns and clean architecture Nice to Have Experience with any of the following is a plus: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Microservices Distributed systems Prometheus / Grafana Apache Kafka Apache Airflow pytest / unittest Shell scripting CI/CD DevOps Production monitoring and observability High-volume data-processing platforms Who We're Looking For We want someone who is: Reliable and available full-time Able to work independently without constant supervision Comfortable taking ownership of technical problems Strong at debugging and problem-solving Able to make sound backend architecture decisions Communicative and responsive during EST working hours Interested in a stable, long-term working relationship How to Apply Please include the following at the top of your proposal: Your years of professional Python/backend development experience Your strongest Python framework Your PostgreSQL experience Your experience with Redis, Celery/RQ, Elasticsearch, and Docker Confirmation that you can work full-time in EST hours Confirmation that you accept the $1,000/month budget Your Windows computer specifications, including your exact GPU model (RTX 4060 or RTX 4070) Your internet speed Your availability/start date Applications that do not answer these questions may not be considered.
