Senior Financial Analyst for SaaS Startup

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated finance person to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in managing our lender relationships, supporting the modeling of our KPI SaaS metrics, overseeing budgeting, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong finance background, startup experience, and demonstrated proficiency with AI tools to enhance efficiency and analytical capabilities. Key Responsibilities General Financial Management: Support month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management. Support external financial reviews and ensure internal controls are robust. Develop SOPs for various business and sales processes. Manage the company’s capitalization table. Create pricing analyses and recommend pricing strategies and structures Lender Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for our lending partners. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to lenders in compliance with all agreements. Manage and negotiate lending terms and conditions when required. Facilitate due diligence processes and information requests from lenders. Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models specifically for SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, MRR, Churn, LTV, CAC). Utilize AI tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and identify key trends. Conduct scenario analysis and provide strategic insights to support business decisions. Develop and maintain margin analysis tools. Develop and maintain pricing configurators for our sales team. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process and ongoing revision and forecasting activities. Collaborate with various teams to gather input and ensure alignment with company objectives. Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions. Manage vendor costs and relationships to increase margins. Revenue Recognition: Oversee and ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant revenue recognition standards. Manage the revenue recognition process, including contract review and deferred revenue schedules. Implement and optimize processes for accurate and timely revenue reporting. Oversee the opportunity close process in the company’s CRM. Process Automation Oversight: Diagram back office processes Identify and implement AI-powered financial tools to automate tasks, improve data analysis, and enhance reporting. Stay abreast of new AI technologies and their potential application in finance. Train and support team members in the effective use of new tools. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree or CFA designation preferred. Equivalent experience considered. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with significant experience in a startup SaaS environment. Proven experience in managing lender relationships and reporting. Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, and revenue recognition.
