Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fractional CMO or Senior Marketing Strategist to help define and lead the development of our direct-to-consumer brand and eCommerce strategy. We are a product development and technology company with a growing portfolio of innovative technical products. As we expand our direct-to-consumer efforts, we are looking for a strategic marketing leader who can help us create the vision, positioning, branding, and customer experience that will drive long-term growth. This is a strategic role focused on developing the foundation of a scalable consumer brand—not simply executing marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have experience marketing technical, engineered, electronic, automotive, RV, marine, industrial, or IoT products and possess the ability to translate complex product features into compelling customer value propositions. Initial Project The first phase of this engagement will focus on developing the vision and strategy for a new consumer-facing eCommerce platform. Responsibilities will include: • Developing the overall brand strategy and market positioning • Defining the website vision, look, and feel • Creating customer personas and buyer journeys • Developing brand messaging and voice • Establishing product category positioning • Creating a content and storytelling framework • Recommending website structure and navigation • Identifying key competitive differentiators • Developing customer acquisition and retention strategies • Creating a roadmap for future marketing and eCommerce growth The selected candidate will work directly with company leadership to understand our products, customers, and long-term business objectives. Ideal Experience Candidates should have significant experience in one or more of the following areas: • Technical or engineered products • Consumer electronics • Automotive aftermarket • RV industry • Marine products • Industrial equipment • Smart devices and IoT products • Electrical or electronic products • Hardware-focused consumer brands Experience building direct-to-consumer brands and eCommerce businesses is highly preferred. Qualifications • 10+ years of marketing strategy, brand development, or executive marketing leadership experience • Proven success launching or growing technical product brands • Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices • Experience developing brand positioning and go-to-market strategies • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into compelling customer messaging • Experience working directly with founders, executives, engineers, and product development teams • Strong communication, presentation, and strategic planning skills Deliverables The initial engagement is expected to produce: • Brand positioning recommendations • Customer persona profiles • Messaging framework • Website vision and user experience recommendations • Competitive analysis • Product category positioning strategy • Visual identity direction • Content and storytelling strategy • Customer acquisition recommendations • Long-term eCommerce growth roadmap What Success Looks Like Within the first 60–90 days, the selected strategist will help us: • Clearly define our consumer brand strategy • Establish a differentiated market position • Create a cohesive customer experience vision • Develop a scalable eCommerce framework • Build a foundation for future product launches • Align marketing, branding, and product strategy around a common vision To Apply Please provide: 1.
