# Senior Marketplace Systems Engineer We are not looking for a web developer. We are not looking for an AI prompt engineer. We are not looking for someone who can build CRUD applications. We are building a large-scale real-time marketplace where thousands of orders, drivers, restaurants, and customers interact simultaneously. You will be responsible for designing and scaling the systems that power: * Real-time dispatching * Driver allocation * Marketplace balancing * ETA prediction * Geospatial optimization * Incentive systems * Fraud prevention * High-volume event processing * Marketplace intelligence infrastructure ## You should apply only if: * You have built or maintained large-scale marketplace systems. * You have worked on delivery, mobility, logistics, ride-sharing, dispatching, fleet management, or similar real-time systems. * You understand supply-demand dynamics. * You have experience with geospatial systems and real-time matching. * You can design systems that continue operating under heavy load. * You think in terms of latency, throughput, optimization, and operational impact. ## Strong preference for candidates with experience from: * Uber * DoorDash * Wolt * Deliveroo * Glovo * Bolt * Lyft * Grab * Similar logistics or marketplace platforms ## Technical Expectations You should be comfortable with: * Distributed systems * Event-driven architecture * High-throughput backend services * Geospatial indexing * Real-time analytics * Event streaming * PostgreSQL * ClickHouse * Kafka * Redis * Scalable cloud infrastructure ## What will disqualify you Do not apply if your experience is limited to: * Landing pages * E-commerce websites * Basic SaaS applications * Prompt engineering only * Chatbot projects * Simple CRUD systems We are looking for engineers who have operated in production environments where real-world operational failures have financial consequences. ## Interview Be prepared to explain: * How you would dispatch 5,000+ orders per hour. * How you would predict driver churn. * How you would detect marketplace imbalance before it becomes visible. * How you would reduce ETA without increasing operational cost. * How you would design a city-wide delivery marketplace from first principles. We care more about systems you have built than technologies you have listed. Show us production systems, not buzzwords.
