About the Engagement OVT Tech, LLC is a Washington State-based digital transformation and data intelligence firm with an active portfolio of enterprise and government clients. We are currently supporting a major engagement with one of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the United States and are seeking a senior Power BI developer to join our delivery team on a contract basis. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. The dashboards and reporting infrastructure you build will be used at the operational and executive levels across a large-scale manufacturing environment. There is strong potential for this engagement to extend beyond the initial contract period and, for the right candidate, to evolve into a full-time role with OVT Tech. What You'll Be Doing • Designing and developing custom-branded Power BI dashboards that align with client visual identity standards — pixel-perfect, professional, and executive-ready • Partnering with stakeholders to define, structure, and validate KPIs across manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and quality domains • Building and optimizing complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and data models for performance at enterprise scale • Connecting and transforming data from multiple source systems (ERP, MES, SQL, Excel, APIs) using Power Query (M) • Creating role-based access controls, row-level security (RLS), and workspace governance in Power BI Service • Collaborating with OVT Tech's project manager and client stakeholders to deliver iteratively across defined sprint cycles • Documenting data models, KPI definitions, and dashboard specifications to enterprise standards • Conducting stakeholder reviews and incorporating feedback with professionalism and speed What We're Looking For ✅ 5–10 years of hands-on Power BI development experience — not generalist BI, Power BI specifically ✅ A strong portfolio of custom-branded dashboards (please include links or samples in your proposal) ✅ Expert-level DAX — you write complex measures from scratch, you don't Google basic syntax ✅ Strong Power Query / M proficiency for data transformation and source connectivity ✅ Demonstrated experience in large enterprise or manufacturing environments ✅ Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, structured KPI frameworks ✅ Excellent visualization instincts — you understand hierarchy, whitespace, color theory, and what makes a dashboard actually usable ✅ Clear, professional communication in English — written and verbal ✅ Self-directed with the ability to work independently across time zones Nice to Have ⭐ Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent ⭐ Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks as upstream data sources ⭐ Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or complex discrete manufacturing environments ⭐ Experience working within branded design systems or collaborating with UX/design teams ⭐ Prior work on US government or defense-adjacent contracts Engagement Details • Duration: 6 months with a strong likelihood of a 12-month extension • Hours: Part-time to full-time depending on sprint phase (expect 20–40 hrs/week) • Location: Fully remote; US-based or US time zone alignment strongly preferred • Conversion potential: High-performing contractors are considered for FTE roles at OVT Tech How to Apply Please include the following in your proposal — applications without these will not be reviewed: 1. 2–3 examples of custom-branded Power BI dashboards you personally built (screenshots, links, or portfolio PDF) 2.
