Senior SolidWorks Product Development Engineer – Existing Concept to Production CAD

We have developed a premium outdoor architectural consumer product concept and need an experienced SolidWorks engineer to convert an existing, well-developed product concept into production-ready CAD and engineering documentation. This is not an open-ended invention project. We already have concept renderings, component layouts, packaging concepts, target dimensions, and product requirements. The product utilizes fabricated sheet-metal components, hidden mounting features, and optimized shipping requirements. Concept development has been completed. We are looking for an engineer to finalize the mechanical design and provide Design for Manufacturing recommendations. We need someone who can develop the production-ready mechanical CAD model and advise on manufacturability, part count, material gauge, mounting systems, shipping optimization and fabrication efficiency. Required deliverables: SolidWorks assembly Individual part files STEP files STL files for 3D printing Sheet metal flat patterns where applicable Exploded assembly view Preliminary BOM Basic manufacturing drawings DFM recommendations Design Review Memo (recommended engineering improvements) Selected candidates will first review our concept package under a mutual NDA. We expect an initial design review meeting followed by iterative CAD development, design-for-manufacturing recommendations, and preparation of files suitable for prototype fabrication and 3D printing.
