Senior Technical Character Animation Artist (iClone, CC5 & Unity)

We are building a next-generation AI avatar platform capable of generating highly realistic real-time conversations. This is not a traditional animation project. We are looking for someone who understands how to build a procedural character animation system that can be driven by AI instead of relying on fixed animation state machines. Our avatars should react naturally during conversations through posture, gestures, reactions, eye contact, breathing, and body language. ⸻ Project Goal The AI should be able to output instructions such as: " Posture: - Type: Confident - Intensity: 0.7 Gesture: - Type: Shrug - Intensity: 0.5 Reaction: - Type: Lean Back - Intensity: 0.4 Eye Contact: - 0.85 Head Tracking: - 0.9 Breathing: - 0.35 " ⸻ The avatar should blend all of these together naturally in Unity. We are not looking for someone to simply create animation clips. ⸻ Responsibilities Help design a real-time body animation architecture that includes: * Idle behaviors * Breathing * Natural weight shifting * Procedural posture changes * Conversation gestures * Emotional body language * Eye contact * Head tracking * Look-at systems * Hand movement * Natural transitions * Additive animation layering * AI-driven reactions Advise on best practices for: * Character Creator 5 * iClone * Unity * Animation Rigging * IK * Animation Layers * Runtime animation blending Work with our Unity developer to expose the animation system to AI. ⸻ Required Skills * Character Creator 5 * iClone * Unity * Animation Rigging * IK * Layered Animation * Blend Trees * Playables * Procedural Animation * Character Animation Systems ⸻ Strong Bonus Skills * Motion Director * Motion Layer * Final IK * Unity Animation Jobs * Procedural locomotion * AI avatar systems * Conversation animation * VR avatar experience ⸻ This is NOT * Cinematic animation * Cutscene animation * Motion capture cleanup only * Traditional game animation state machines ⸻ When Applying Please include: * Examples of real-time character systems you’ve built. * Experience with CC5 and iClone. * Experience with Unity animation systems. * Experience building procedural or AI-driven animation systems. * If an AI outputs: " Posture = Confident (0.7) Gesture = Shrug (0.5) Reaction = Lean Back (0.4) Eye Contact = 0.8 " How would you architect the runtime animation system to blend all of these together naturally?
