Job Title: ServiceNow Architect – SAM Pro and CMDB Integration Location: India – Remote/Hybrid Engagement Duration: 6 Months Employment Type: Full-Time Contract Working Hours: 40 Hours per Week Experience Required: 8–12+ Years Joining Preference: Immediate to 30 Days Role Overview We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect based in India for a six-month, full-time engagement. The architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions, with a primary focus on Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro), CMDB, Discovery, IntegrationHub, and SaaS application integrations. The primary objective of the engagement is to ensure that software, subscription, user, entitlement, installation, cloud-resource, and configuration-item data from the client’s technology estate is accurately integrated into ServiceNow and appropriately mapped to the CMDB. The selected candidate must have strong ServiceNow architecture experience, excellent knowledge of ITSM and IT Asset Management processes, and the ability to independently lead technical design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and stakeholder discussions. Key Responsibilities ServiceNow Architecture and Solution Design * Design scalable and secure ServiceNow solutions aligned with business, technical, security, and operational objectives. * Define the overall architecture for ServiceNow SAM Pro, CMDB, Discovery, Service Graph Connectors, IntegrationHub, and third-party SaaS integrations. * Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs, solution architecture documents, data models, integration specifications, and implementation plans. * Ensure that the solution follows ServiceNow recommended practices and minimizes unnecessary customization. * Review the existing ServiceNow environment and recommend improvements to performance, scalability, maintainability, and data quality. SAM Pro Implementation * Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional. * Configure software discovery models, software products, publisher packs, entitlements, contracts, allocations, subscriptions, and reconciliation processes. * Establish processes for software normalization, license compliance, software usage analysis, reclamation, optimization, and renewal management. * Configure SaaS license management and subscription tracking for supported applications. * Design dashboards and reports covering software compliance, license consumption, utilization, reclamation opportunities, renewals, and cost optimization. * Support the identification and remediation of software compliance gaps. CMDB and Configuration Management * Define the CMDB architecture, configuration-item classes, relationships, identification rules, reconciliation rules, and data ownership model. * Ensure that configuration items received from SaaS platforms, cloud environments, discovery sources, and enterprise systems are correctly classified and mapped to the appropriate CMDB classes. * Implement and optimize the ServiceNow Identification and Reconciliation Engine. * Establish data-quality controls for completeness, correctness, compliance, duplicates, orphan configuration items, and stale records. * Configure CMDB Health dashboards and remediation processes. * Ensure that the CMDB supports ITSM, IT Operations Management, Software Asset Management, reporting, audit, and compliance requirements. SaaS and Enterprise Application Integrations Design, configure, and validate integrations between ServiceNow SAM Pro/CMDB and the following applications: Product Publisher Adobe Creative Cloud Adobe Adobe Acrobat Pro Adobe Google Workspace Google ServiceNow ServiceNow, Inc. EPDQ Barclays/Barclaycard DocuWare DocuWare The architect will be expected to: * Evaluate the availability of native ServiceNow integrations, Service Graph Connectors, SaaS License Connections, IntegrationHub spokes, APIs, web services, file-based integrations, and custom integration options. * Design inbound and outbound integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, MID Server, IntegrationHub, import sets, transform maps, scheduled jobs, and scripted integrations. * Define field mappings, transformation logic, identification rules, reconciliation rules, error-handling mechanisms, retry processes, and monitoring controls. * Integrate subscription, user, entitlement, license, software-installation, usage, contract, cloud-resource, and configuration-item data into ServiceNow. * Ensure that data received from source platforms is normalized, deduplicated, reconciled, and mapped to the appropriate CMDB and SAM Pro records. * Coordinate with application owners, security teams, identity teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to obtain API access, credentials, certificates, integration accounts, and technical documentation. * Troubleshoot authentication, data-mapping, connectivity, API-rate-limit, data-quality, and reconciliation issues. * Maintain detailed integration documentation, including source-to-target mappings and interface-control documents. ITSM and Process Alignment * Ensure that the proposed architecture aligns with ITIL and ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Configuration, Knowledge, and Asset Management. * Define the relationship between software assets, users, devices, cloud resources, business applications, and related configuration items. * Support integration of SAM Pro and CMDB data with ITSM workflows. * Recommend process improvements based on ServiceNow capabilities and industry practices. * Work closely with process owners to ensure that technical solutions support operational and compliance requirements. Technical Leadership * Lead architecture workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, technical discussions, and solution walkthroughs. * Provide technical direction to ServiceNow developers, administrators, integration engineers, and testing teams. * Review technical configurations, scripts, workflows, integrations, and customizations. * Identify technical risks, dependencies, constraints, and mitigation actions. * Support defect resolution, performance optimization, system testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployment. * Provide knowledge-transfer sessions and technical guidance to the client’s internal ServiceNow team. * Work independently while maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience * 8–12+ years of overall IT experience. * Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience. * Minimum 3 years of experience in a ServiceNow Architect, Technical Architect, or Lead Consultant role. * Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro. * Strong knowledge of CMDB, Common Service Data Model, Discovery, Asset Management, and configuration-management processes. * Experience implementing the Identification and Reconciliation Engine. * Experience with CMDB Health, data certification, duplicate management, and configuration-item lifecycle management. * Strong experience with ServiceNow IntegrationHub, MID Server, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, import sets, transform maps, scheduled imports, and scripted integrations. * Experience integrating SaaS platforms, cloud environments, identity systems, collaboration platforms, and enterprise applications. * Strong understanding of software licensing, subscriptions, entitlements, software normalization, reconciliation, compliance, and optimization. * Strong knowledge of ITSM and ITIL processes. * Experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, UI Policies, and Data Policies. * Ability to create architecture documents, technical specifications, data-mapping documents, interface designs, and deployment plans. * Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder-management, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently in a remote or distributed delivery environment. Preferred Skills * Experience with Microsoft 365, Adobe, Google Workspace, AWS, Atlassian, Autodesk, Workday, LeanIX, GitLab, and other enterprise SaaS integrations. * Experience with ServiceNow Service Graph Connectors and SaaS License Management. * Experience with IT Operations Management, Discovery, Service Mapping, and Cloud Discovery. * Knowledge of Software Asset Management Foundation and Software Asset Management Professional data models. * Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, API tokens, basic authentication, certificate-based authentication, and enterprise security controls. * Experience with Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog management, and technical estimation. * Experience working with multinational or large enterprise clients. Preferred Certifications * ServiceNow Certified System Administrator. * ServiceNow Certified Application Developer. * ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management. * ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery. * ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Service Mapping. * ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect or Certified Master Architect certification would be highly advantageous. * ITIL Foundation or higher certification. Expected Outcomes By the end of the engagement, the selected architect should help ensure that: * Relevant software and SaaS information is available in ServiceNow SAM Pro. * Configuration items from the technology estate are accurately represented in the CMDB. * Data from integrated applications is normalized, deduplicated, and reconciled. * Software subscriptions, entitlements, allocations, installations, and usage can be effectively monitored. * License-compliance and optimization opportunities are visible through dashboards and reports. * CMDB data quality is measurable and supported by clear governance processes. * The solution is scalable, supportable, secure, and aligned with ServiceNow recommended practices.
