Shopify Inventory Import / API Connection

Shopify Inventory Integration & Automation Expert Project Overview We are looking for an experienced Shopify automation and API developer to build an automated inventory synchronization solution between a wholesale supplier and our Shopify store. Our Shopify store already contains an established catalog of products and variants. We are adding a second inventory source that will support drop shipping while maintaining our existing local inventory. The goal is to automatically synchronize inventory quantities from our supplier into Shopify while preserving our current product catalog and variant structure. ⸻ Project Requirements The solution must: * Automatically retrieve inventory from our supplier’s API. * Match supplier products to existing Shopify products. * Match supplier inventory to the correct Shopify variant. * Update inventory only at the designated drop-ship inventory location. * Preserve existing product names, handles, variants, and product structure. * Operate automatically without manual intervention. ⸻ Business Rules Our Shopify products already contain variants based on: * Color * Carrier * Storage Capacity The supplier inventory should always map to the existing variant where: * Color matches * Carrier = Carrier Unlocked * Storage matches Some supplier products contain multiple condition grades. Example: * Grade A: 5 units * Grade AB: 7 units The inventory quantity in Shopify should equal the combined available quantity for all supported grades.
