Shopify Theme Developer - Full Store Rebuild on Wokiee Theme

Shopify Expert Needed — Full Store Rebuild on Wokiee Theme (Multi-Brand Merge, 500+ Products) THE PROJECT We're merging three established brands, including our flagship off-grid solar & battery store, established since 2022 and doing well with strong ongoing momentum into one unified Shopify store covering off-grid, marine, and related energy categories. This is a full store build from scratch on the Wokiee theme, importing 500+ products across all three brands, replicating and improving on our current functionality (bundles, upsells, multiple apps), and getting it launch ready fast. For the right person, this is an immediate start. SCOPE OF WORK - Full Shopify store build on the Wokiee theme - Import and structure 500+ products across three merging brands - Replicate and improve current site functionality: bundles, upsells, cart features, sliders, search, mega menus - Set up, merge and apply metafields and tags correctly — we have organic Google traffic and AI search visibility, so structured data matters - Integrate our existing app stack into the new build - Design and build custom banners as part of the site launch (see Graphic Design section below) - Work with our virtual assistant when needed for product data export/prep - QA across desktop and mobile before launch MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - Strong, demonstrated Shopify development experience — please share past live store examples/portfolio with your application - Comfortable doing full theme-based builds (not just tweaks) - Strong CRO knowledge — UI/UX best practices, customer journey mapping, and specifically optimising product pages (PDPs) to lift conversion rates, not just make them look nice - Understanding of Shopify metafields, tags, and SEO structure - Graphic design skills to a high standard — you'll be creating site banners and on-site creative yourself; we're not bringing in an external designer for this. Please include design examples separate from dev work. - Excellent, fast, clear communicator in English - Confident working directly in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript if needed— not just the no-code admin/app side of Shopify BIG BONUS (Not Mandatory, But Highly Preferred) Prior hands-on experience building on the Wokiee theme specifically. If you've built stores on Wokiee before, tell us upfront — this is a major advantage for this role given our timeline. TEAM STRUCTURE We're open to solo developers or small teams — but if you have a small team that lets this move faster without sacrificing quality, we're very open to that. Speed and quality both matter; we'd rather pay for a team that delivers well and on time than wait on a solo dev working through 500+ products alone. COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS - Daily communication via Slack, during 9am and up to 5pm Sydney (AEST) business hours - Fast response times — we need someone responsive, not someone we're chasing - Comfortable giving/receiving feedback via written notes and Loom videos - Available to jump on video calls with camera onwhen needed.
