Shopify Virtual Marketing Assistant for Garden / Plant-Based Ecommerce Store We are looking for a detail-oriented Shopify Virtual Marketing Assistant to help manage and improve our online store. This is an ongoing hourly role, approximately 10–20 hours per week, with the potential to grow into more responsibility over time. Our business sells plants, gardening supplies, and homesteading-related products, so this role is a great fit for someone who has an interest in gardening, growing food, plants, herbalism, homesteading, or a more self-sufficient lifestyle. You do not need to be an expert gardener, but genuine interest in this area will help you understand our products and customers better. We are located in the United States, but we are happy to work with the right person from anywhere in the world. What You’ll Help With You will help us manage product information, inventory, pricing, SEO, collections, product pages, and marketing content. Much of the work will happen between Shopify and Google Sheets. Tasks may include: Creating and editing Shopify product listings Updating prices, inventory, tags, variants, and metadata Writing or improving SEO-friendly product descriptions Creating and organizing Shopify collections Improving product pages for clarity, sales, and conversion Entering SEO titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, and product details Managing product update lists in Google Sheets Helping identify missing or outdated product information Recommending Shopify apps or improvements that could help increase sales Researching online competitors and suggesting useful improvements Creating graphics and simple marketing assets in Canva Helping with a content calendar and scheduling social media posts Using AI tools such as ChatGPT to work more efficiently, brainstorm ideas, improve descriptions, and organize information Required Skills Please apply only if you have strong experience with: Shopify product management Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel Canva Accurate data entry SEO-friendly product descriptions Fluent written English Clear communication and regular project updates Nice-to-Have Experience These are not required, but would be very helpful: Gardening, farming, plants, herbal products, homesteading, or food-growing experience Ecommerce conversion rate optimization Shopify app setup or recommendations Social media scheduling Content calendar management Competitor research Email marketing experience Work Style We are looking for someone who is organized, reliable, proactive, and able to ask good questions when needed. Most tasks will have a turnaround time of up to two days, though some work may be more flexible. The ideal person will not only complete assigned tasks, but also notice ways to improve our systems, product pages, collections, marketing, and customer experience. Do you have any personal interest or experience in gardening, growing food, plants, herbalism, farming, homesteading, or self-sufficient living? Please tell us a little about that. 7.
