Shopify and TikTok Shop Integration
Worldwide
Project type: Fixed-scope diagnostic + fix, not a recurring role -This is a project with a defined end point, not a daily/ongoing task. We previously had a freelancer manually re-entering stock levels and listing details every day as a workaround — that is exactly what we're trying to eliminate. We are not looking for someone to take over that manual work. We're looking for someone to fix the underlying system so manual work is no longer needed at all. About the project -We run a Shopify store with an active TikTok Shop, connected via the native TikTok sales channel app (installed since 2022). We need an experienced specialist to diagnose and fix an existing, misbehaving integration — not someone learning TikTok Shop for the first time, and not someone who will patch symptoms manually instead of fixing the cause. Current situation -The native TikTok-Shopify app is active and has Edit access to Products, syncing automatically. Despite this, two in-house staff manually update stock levels and product listing details directly in TikTok Seller Center every day. Manually-added product details (highlights, descriptions) have disappeared after being re-entered 4-5 times — we suspect the automated app and manual edits are overwriting each other. We've had 8 products go out of stock and 3 into low stock in a single week, with an estimated $655 in lost GMV, per TikTok's own alerts. We have one active, correctly-mapped warehouse (confirmed) — this is not a warehouse mapping issue. We have two TikTok Business Centers (one active, one an unused duplicate) that may need consolidating — TikTok has confirmed BCs can't be merged, only migrated. Two of our best-selling products have open health rating violations tied to customer ratings (no appeal available) — not in scope for this role, but useful context. The real problem (as we understand it) -This isn't a "build a sync from scratch" job — a sync already exists. The likely issue is two sources of truth fighting over the same product data: the automated app pushing updates from Shopify, while staff also edit directly in TikTok Seller Center. We need someone to: Diagnose why the existing sync isn't fully trusted/relied upon today -Decide and implement a single source of truth for inventory (most likely Shopify, feeding TikTok automatically) Eliminate the need for manual daily updates once the sync is trustworthy Advise on a safety stock buffer for fast-selling items so we're not caught at zero stock What "done" looks like -The automated sync is the trusted single source of truth for inventory and listing data Our staff no longer need to manually re-enter stock levels or product details You've documented what was actually wrong and what you changed, so we (or anyone else) can verify the fix Once confirmed stable, the project is complete — this is not a retainer Must have -Verifiable past experience with TikTok Shop + Shopify integrations (please share examples) Experience debugging an existing live integration, not just setting one up from scratch Comfort auditing and fixing sync logic on a live store with real order volume — this is not a sandbox Ability to explain clearly what was broken and why, not just apply a fix silently or work around it manually
