Short Form Clip Editor

We run content sprints where a speaker records short-form clips to camera using a teleprompter. Each recording uses three cameras shooting in 4K, with podcast microphone audio captured separately through a RODECaster. From each session we produce a batch of roughly 12 to 16 finished vertical clips, each around 60 seconds long. The speakers are confident on camera, so the edits are clean and there are no complex or bespoke animations required. The priority is fast, consistent, high-quality turnaround. This is an ongoing need, not a one-off, so a reliable editor will get regular batches. What you will receive per batch For each clip you will have footage from three cameras plus the separate microphone audio from the RODECaster. Each memory card holds the 12 to 16 clips, and those files correspond to the matching files on the other two cameras and the audio recording. We record two takes of every clip, so there is always a backup. The second take is usually the stronger one. Original transcripts can be provided to help with caption accuracy where needed. We will also send you example clips showing exactly the style and finish we expect. What each clip needs Sync the three camera angles and the RODECaster audio. Remove the in-camera audio and use the RODECaster audio only. Colour correct and grade. The main camera sits behind a teleprompter and is often darker than the other two, so it needs balancing to match. Remove any mistakes and fumbles to create one clean clip. When cutting around a mistake, never cover the cut with the same camera. Always rotate to one of the other angles to hide the edit. Retention edit throughout. Use slow zooms and subtle motion effects to keep the viewer engaged. Add captions. We use a plugin called Captioneer, but you are welcome to use a different captioning tool as long as the result looks clean and matches our examples. For some clients a specific branding is required. When that applies, we will tell you in advance. Occasionally a clip is actually a longer podcast conversation that we want a couple of short clips pulled from. When that is the case, we will let you know. Captions must be accurate, so a strong command of written English is essential. Deliverables For each project we need every clip rendered and exported and sent back to us, along with the project file and any additional assets used in the edit. Turnaround This is the most important part of the role. There is a strict turnaround time. For this first job we need the clips completed and returned within 24 hours. If they come back within 24 hours to a good standard, we will immediately send a second set of clips to work on, and continue from there. We will pay per clip for each project.
