Siding & Roofing Estimator (Material Takeoff + Proposal Prep)

About the Role We're a faith-based exterior subcontracting company (framing, siding, and roofing) serving Eastern Washington and North Idaho. We're looking for an experienced estimator to own the full takeoff and proposal-prep process for our siding and roofing projects. You'll work from plans to produce complete, accurate material takeoffs, build out labor budgets, gather supplier pricing, and prepare clean scope language we can drop directly into our client proposals. Scope of Work Material Takeoffs – Complete full takeoffs from plans/blueprints, calculating square footage and quantities for the various siding types (lap, panel, board & batten, soffit, trim, accessories) and roofing systems. Labor Budgeting – Develop labor budgets for each project based on quantities and production rates. Supplier Quotes – Request and compile material pricing from our designated supplier(s), confirming quantities, lead times, and pricing. Software Entry – Upload and organize all takeoff data, quantities, and pricing into our estimating software. Scope Writing – Draft clear "Included" and "Excluded" scope-of-work language for each estimate, formatted so we can copy and paste directly into our proposals. Requirements Proven experience in siding and/or roofing material takeoffs Ability to read and interpret construction plans and elevations Strong understanding of exterior materials, accessories, and waste factors Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software and Excel Clear written English for scope-of-work documentation Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to meet deadlines Preferred Familiarity with takeoff software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar) Multi-family and commercial exterior experience Experience writing inclusion/exclusion scope language
