Solar Project Land Viability Assessment

We are seeking a professional to assess the viability of land for solar projects (and potential combined BESS if scale makes sense). Solar is primary aim. The role involves evaluating land suitability, reviewing online data to assess parcel size, points of interconnection, topography (as best as possible without on-site visits) and providing detailed reports including potential rate capacity and approximate hard development costs (equipment/installation) for developers . The ideal candidate will have experience in solar project development and land assessment, ensuring that the land is suitable for solar installations. This is a part-time engagement for 1 to 3 months and work will be needed as potential parcels are identified. Our company is investing in land in Michigan (agricultural, industrial and other viable properties) that we will use for community solar projects (2-10MW). Most of the parcels we will be reviewing range from 40-150 acres. We are trying to avoid larger utility-scale projects that face more scrutiny from a zoning perspective.
