Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Industrial Metals & Scrap

**Job Description:** **Overview:** We are seeking a professional Sourcing Agent/Supply Chain Specialist to help identify and vet reliable suppliers for metal scrap across global markets. The goal of this project is to conduct market research, verify supplier legitimacy using international trade data, and facilitate initial price negotiations. **Project Scope & Tasks:** 1. **Market Research:** Identify verified suppliers for the following materials: * Aluminum (HS 760200) * Copper (HS 740400) * Heavy Melting Steel (HS 720449) * Zinc (HS 790200) & Lead (HS 780200) 2. **Supplier Verification:** Use legitimate international customs/trade databases and export records to ensure suppliers are active and reputable. 3. **Price Comparison:** Gather and compare quotes from multiple suppliers to identify cost-effective options that meet our quality standards. 4. **Reporting:** Provide a detailed report of potential suppliers, including their capacity to fulfill orders of 1–10 containers (20ft / 25 MT per container). **Target Countries for Sourcing:** We are primarily looking for suppliers located in: * **North America/Europe:** USA, UK, Germany, Netherlands. * **Asia/Pacific:** Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines. * **Africa:** South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia. *(Note: These locations will be used for export to our primary receiving hubs in India and South Africa.)* **Requirements:** * Proven experience in international sourcing or supply chain management. * Familiarity with HS Codes and international shipping logistics. * Ability to conduct thorough due diligence and background checks on companies. * Excellent negotiation skills. **Payment & Communication:** * All communication and payments must be handled strictly through the Upwork platform. * This is a [Fixed-Price/Hourly] project for the **sourcing and research phase**.
