Surgical Technology Instructional Facilitator (Part-Time)

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Instructional Facilitator to support our Surgical Technology Program. This part-time role is ideal for a professional who enjoys mentoring, teaching, and guiding students through both academic and career readiness milestones. The Instructional Facilitator will support students by answering academic questions, developing instructional content outlines, conducting live virtual sessions, and assisting students with certification exam preparation and scheduling. This role works closely with the Clinical Site Affiliation Facilitator to ensure students are supported throughout their externship and credentialing journey. Key Responsibilities Academic & Instructional Support Respond to student questions related to course content, assignments, and clinical concepts Develop and maintain instructional content outlines, study guides, and learning resources aligned with program objectives Update instructional materials to reflect current industry standards and certification requirements Provide academic guidance and clarification to ensure student comprehension and success Live Instruction & Engagement Conduct 2–3 weekly live Zoom sessions for instruction, review, and Q&A Facilitate interactive discussions, case reviews, and exam prep sessions Maintain attendance and participation records for live sessions Student Progress & Certification Support Guide students through the certification exam process, including eligibility, documentation, and scheduling Assist students with exam readiness strategies and timelines Monitor student progress and provide recommendations for remediation when needed Collaboration & Program Support Work collaboratively with the Clinical Site Affiliation Facilitator to support student placement and externship readiness Coordinate with program leadership regarding student performance, readiness, and placement status Participate in program meetings and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications: Prior teaching, training, or instructional support experience (academic or clinical) Strong understanding of surgical technology curriculum and certification requirements Comfortable facilitating virtual instruction via Zoom or similar platforms Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to work independently in a remote/part-time environment
