Surveillance Analyst

Our US prediction markets platform is launching in 2026 under federal licensure. We are hiring 4 surveillance analysts to monitor live trading activity for manipulation, fraud, and suspicious behavior once the platform goes live. This is a long-term, ongoing role, not a project. What you will do day-to-day: Monitor real-time trading dashboards and automated alerts. Spot patterns and anomalies in trading data that suggest manipulation, fraud, or coordinated behavior. Investigate flagged accounts, review order history, look for connections between accounts, analyze timing patterns. Distinguish suspicious activity from legitimate trading. Document findings clearly in case files (escalate, dismiss, or monitor). Escalate confirmed manipulation or fraud to compliance. Write daily and weekly surveillance summaries. What we are looking for: We need sharp analytical thinkers who can look at trading data and see what is really going on. Strong candidates have a mix of these strengths: Data analytics: comfortable working with large datasets, spotting outliers, finding patterns. Excel pivot tables, SQL, or Python a plus. Pattern recognition: ability to look at user activity and notice what does not fit the normal picture. Fraud prevention experience: investigating suspicious activity, building cases, identifying connected accounts. AML knowledge: familiarity with money-laundering typologies, suspicious activity reporting, KYC red flags. You do not need previous prediction-markets experience, we will train you on the specifics. We need your analytical instinct. Backgrounds we welcome: - AML/KYC/financial compliance - Bank fraud investigation - Payments dispute analysis (chargebacks, ACH disputes) - Casino, sportsbook, or iGaming integrity/risk - Data analyst with finance or risk exposure - Fintech or crypto exchange surveillance - Securities or commodities surveillance Must-have: 2+ years in investigation, fraud, compliance, or analytical work involving financial or transactional data. Comfort writing structured case notes in clear English. Reliable internet, quiet workspace, working webcam. Able to commit to 48 hours/week (6 shifts of 8 hours, one day off). Available for ONE of the three fixed shifts below (all times Pacific Time, year-round): Shift A — Day: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM PT Shift B — Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM PT Shift C — Overnight: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM PT We are hiring 1 analyst per shift, plus 1 floater to cover days off and absences. Tell us in your proposal which shift(s) you can work. Nice-to-have (not required): SQL or Excel pivot-table fluency. Experience with case management tools (Actimize, Salesforce, Jira, etc.). Familiarity with order book mechanics (limit orders, market orders, CLOB). Engagement: Hours: 48 hrs/week (6 × 8-hour shifts, one day off), ongoing (no end date). Shifts: Fixed shift, you will be assigned one of the three shifts above and stay on it. Pay: $5–$8/hr depending on experience. Start: Within 2 weeks of offer acceptance. First 30 days: Probation.
