Summary

Retail Leadership Survey Analyst Needed for 2026 Global Study I am looking for an experienced data analyst to help analyze this year’s Retail Leadership Study, a global survey focused on the real challenges, development needs, and future readiness of retail leaders. This is the second year of the study. Last year’s analysis included survey response breakdowns, charts, qualitative themes, written insights, correlation analysis, strategic implications, and key takeaways. I am looking for a similar output this year, but with stronger insight, cleaner storytelling, and a more strategic lens. The final analysis will be used for a public industry report, sponsor pages, thought leadership content, podcast discussions, LinkedIn content, and presentations for senior retail leaders and retail organizations. What I Need I need someone who can take the raw survey data and turn it into a clear, organized, presentation-ready analysis. The work should include: 1. Survey Question Analysis For each survey question, I need: Clean percentage breakdowns Charts or visuals where appropriate A short narrative summary Key insights Patterns by role, age, experience level, geography, leadership level, or retail segment where relevant The goal is not just to report numbers, but to explain what the numbers mean. 2. Open-Ended Response Analysis Several questions include written responses. I need those responses grouped into clear themes. Last year’s analysis identified themes around leadership training gaps, people management, operational pressure, emotional intelligence, business acumen, communication, mentorship, mental health, AI, and personal development. This year, I want the qualitative analysis to go deeper. I need someone who can identify the repeated themes, but also the less obvious insights underneath the responses. 3. Ranking Question Analysis Some questions ask respondents to rank challenges, skills, or leadership solutions. I need these analyzed properly, not just summarized. The analysis should show: Which items ranked highest overall Which items were most often ranked first Any clear patterns by leadership role or experience level What the rankings suggest about the current state of retail leadership 4. Cross-Tab and Correlation Analysis I need deeper analysis that looks for meaningful relationships in the data. For example: Do more experienced leaders feel more prepared? Do store leaders view leadership development differently than corporate leaders? Are younger leaders more concerned about AI? Does training alignment affect leader confidence? Are certain leadership challenges stronger by role, age, or experience level? I do not need overly complicated academic research, but I do need thoughtful analysis that helps uncover what is really happening beneath the surface. 5. Strategic Implications and Key Takeaways I need the analyst to go beyond “what the data says” and help explain what it means for: Retail leaders Retail companies HR and leadership development teams Sponsors and industry partners The future of retail leadership This is one of the most important parts of the project. The final report needs to feel useful, credible, and practical for senior leaders. 6. Presentation-Ready Output The final analysis should be easy to move into a designed report or PowerPoint deck. Last year’s output included slide-style pages with charts, percentages, written summaries, strategic implications, and key takeaways. I need a similar structure this year so the design team can use the material directly. Ideal Deliverables Please provide: Cleaned data file Summary analysis by question Charts or visuals for each major question Open-ended response theme analysis Ranking question analysis Cross-tab and correlation analysis Strategic implications Key takeaways PowerPoint or slide-style analysis deck Optional Excel file with tabs for each question and analysis category Ideal Candidate The ideal person has experience with: Survey data analysis Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar tools Open-ended response coding Qualitative analysis Executive-level summaries Turning data into business insights Workforce, HR, leadership, retail, or employee research Retail experience is not required, but you should be able to understand leadership, workforce, employee development, and organizational themes. Important Note on Tone This study is not meant to be generic, overly academic, or filled with surface-level observations. The audience includes senior retail leaders, corporate decision-makers, sponsors, and industry partners. The analysis should feel practical, thoughtful, and useful. I am looking for someone who can help uncover what the data is really saying and translate it into clear insight. Examples of Last Year’s Output Last year’s analysis included sections such as: Retail Leadership Landscape Retail Identity Check Retail Leadership Experience Leadership Focus Areas Biggest Personal Challenges Leaders Are Navigating Preparedness of Retail Leaders Top Challenges Impacting Retail Leaders What’s Missing from Leadership Training Top Leadership Skills for Development AI Impact on Retail Leadership Roles Leadership Development Prioritization Innovative Leadership Development Solutions Age and Gender Demographics Open-Ended Reflections Correlation Analysis Strategic Implications Key Takeaways This year, I would like a similar structure, but more polished, more strategic, and more useful for a public-facing report. Project Goal The goal is to turn this year’s survey responses into a clear, credible, and insightful analysis that helps the retail industry better understand what leaders are facing, what support they need, and how companies should rethink leadership development. Please include examples of past survey analysis, dashboard work, or research reports you have completed.
