Summary

Junior Virtual Assistant Independent Contractor (1099) 5–10 hrs/week to start, with room to grow to 25+ hours International Applications Welcome Accepting applications for an incredible long-term fit. Who we are Enlightening Motherhood helps parents of neurodivergent children build emotional resilience and stronger family relationships. Our programs teach Brain-Body Emotional Regulation™ to both parents and children through classes, coaching, and online education. We are a small, heart-centered online business doing big things — and we’re growing fast. We need someone to help us grow without losing what makes us special. Who we’re looking for ✅You’re detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. You excel at taking direction and following through. You pay attention to small details and ensure quality work. You follow instructions carefully while communicating clearly. You’re flexible, adaptable, and able to handle shifting priorities. ✅You will be working closely with our small team and contributing to our international operations. You’re the person who helps lighten the load across video editing, social media, graphic design, and course content organization. You’re an understudy in the best way, learning the full scope of what keeps our business running smoothly, so you’re ready to step up or pivot if the business needs you elsewhere. ✅You don’t wait to be asked. You anticipate what needs doing. You’re proactive in organizing tasks, tracking progress, and keeping things structured. You catch small mistakes before they become big problems. When you hit a wall, you troubleshoot it yourself first—you search, you try, you figure it out—and you only ask for help after you have genuinely tried. ✅This role requires someone who is genuinely excellent at execution and follow-through. You do what you say you will do. When something comes up and you cannot make it, you message ahead of time—not after. When a task feels unclear or overwhelming, you problem solve or ask a question instead of going quiet or guessing wrong. ✅You notice the small details and follow through (please answer 4+4=8? on your Loom video submission.) ✅You check your work before submitting it. When you catch a mistake, yours or a teammate’s, you fix it or flag it kindly instead of letting it slide. You pay close attention to detail even when instructions are long and mixed in with a lot of other information. You support the people around you even when it wasn’t specifically assigned to you. ✅You communicate clearly and thoroughly. You’re honest, even when it’s uncomfortable. You’re kind, even when you’re correcting someone. What you’ll actually be doing: Video Editing & Production Trim and edit YouTube and podcast clips using Descript Create short social media clips from longer content Ensure all edits maintain quality and are on-brand Social Media Support Repurpose content across platforms Create and schedule social media posts Assist with Facebook and Instagram management Help maintain consistency in messaging and visuals Graphic Design Create thumbnails, social media graphics, and visual assets using Canva Ensure all designs align with our brand look, feel, and message Support thumbnail creation for YouTube videos Course Content Organization Upload and organize videos, PDFs, and course materials in Thrivecart and Heartbeat Ensure all content is properly tagged, labeled, and accessible Maintain organization systems for easy navigation Brand & Messaging Consistency Ensure all visuals and written content reflect our brand standards Understand and apply our brand voice across all platforms Catch inconsistencies before they go live Growth & Adaptability As you settle into the role and as the business evolves, you may also support: Podcast and YouTube support (descriptions, thumbnails, episode linking) Inbox management and scheduling support Customer communication and community engagement Administrative tasks and SOP creation Other projects as business needs shift Availability We’re flexible on when you work, but we need consistent, reliable schedules and output. No double-tasking while clocked in—that means no managing kids, prepping meals, or handling other responsibilities simultaneously. We need your full focus and presence. Your hours can be structured however works best for you, as long as the work is done well and on time, and you can work every day Monday - Friday. We need to know you’re committed and available when you say you are. We will expect you at team meetings every Thursday 7:15am PDT. Technology You should be comfortable learning or already familiar with tools like Descript, Canva, Metricool, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets), Slack, Gmail, Thrivecart, Heartbeat, WordPress (Divi Builder), Asana, ChatGPT, Zoom, Pabbly, Spotify for Podcasters, Flodesk, and Systeme.io.l, and more. We don’t expect you to know all of them. We do expect you to figure them out without needing someone to walk you through every step. When you hit a problem, you search for answers, watch tutorials, ask a team member and you try genuinely before asking for help. This is NOT the right role for you if: You say yes but then don’t follow through. You agree to be available and then go quiet without any message. You avoid a task when it feels hard or overwhelming instead of asking for help. You get stuck on a tech problem and instead of trying to figure it out yourself, you stop working and wait for someone to solve it for you. You rush through work and don’t check it before submitting. When you spot a mistake, yours or someone else’s, you ignore it instead of fixing it. You don’t speak up when you notice something needs attention, or you struggle to point things out kindly. You keep your struggles to yourself instead of communicating them. You notify us last minute that you are unavailable. You’ll be double-tasking while working—simultaneously taking care of kids, prepping meals, or managing other responsibilities. You skip parts of instructions or move too fast and miss important details. If any of that sounds like you, please don’t apply. We mean that kindly—this just isn’t the right fit, and that’s okay. We would rather both of us find the right match than waste each other’s time. This IS for you if: You do what you say you will do. You’re extremely organized and love to help others get and stay organized also. If something comes up and you cannot make it, you message ahead of time not after. When a task feels unclear or overwhelming, you problem solve or ask a question instead of going quiet or guessing wrong. When you hit a tech problem, you troubleshoot it yourself first—you search, you try, you figure it out and you only ask for help after you have genuinely tried. You check your work before submitting it. When you catch a mistake, yours or a teammate’s, you fix it or flag it kindly instead of letting it slide. You pay close attention to detail even when instructions are long and mixed in with a lot of other information. You support the people around you even when it wasn’t specifically assigned to you. You speak up when you have a struggle, a need, or an idea for how things could work better. You are honest, even when it is uncomfortable. You are kind, even when you are correcting someone. Then we would genuinely love to meet you. A few things that matter to us that you won’t find in most job posts We serve a community of parents who are already exhausted. They come to us because their neurodivergent kids deserve better tools—and so do they. That means the work we do has to be done with care. A task that gets rushed or half-finished doesn’t just create a to-do list problem, it affects real families. Our team moves fast, thinks creatively, and sometimes needs people who can catch what falls through the cracks without being asked. If you need every detail spelled out before you can move, this won’t feel good for either of us. But if you love bringing order to a creative, mission-driven space and can think on your feet, you will thrive here. We also use a lot of tools. Not because we love complexity, but because we’re a small team doing big things. We don’t expect you to know all of them. We do expect you to figure them out without needing us to walk you through every step. We are not a difficult team to work with. We are supportive, we celebrate good work, and we want you to succeed. But we need someone we can trust completely, because we will not be checking on you every hour. You will have real responsibility here, and we want you to own it. Growth of this role This contract begins part-time at 5–10 hours per week. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us. As the business expands and you prove yourself in this role, we anticipate this engagement increasing in both scope and hours with the potential to grow toward 20+ hours per week and beyond as you develop your expertise and we scale. We are genuinely looking for a long-term hire. We want to invest in someone who is invested in us. If you are looking for a genuine opportunity to help build something meaningful while growing your own skills, this may be exactly what you’re looking for. This role requires someone who enjoys bringing order to operations, taking ownership, and continuously improving how things work. If you prefer simply completing assigned tasks rather than improving how things work, this role will likely feel frustrating. How to apply Ready to apply? Please include the following: A brief introduction of yourself—tell us who you are and why you’re interested in this role Your experience and perspective on the skills listed above A few short scenarios so we can see how you think A short 2-minute loom video telling us why you believe you’re a good fit for this role. After we review applications, we may reach out with follow-up questions or to invite you for a paid trial task. Finalists will have a live conversation before hiring. We’re also open to referrals. If you know someone who would be a great fit, please share this with them. We’re looking forward to connecting! Warmly, Emily About Enlightening Motherhood We believe neurodivergent children deserve compassionate, strengths-based approaches to emotional regulation and family relationships. Our team is made up of people who are deeply committed to serving families, uplifting those we work with, and building something that actually matters. If you believe in this mission and you’re ready to be part of a growing, mission-driven team—we’d love to have you apply.
