Telecommunications GIS & RF Planning Consultant

We are developing a new spatial data product for the telecommunications industry and are looking for an experienced consultant to help us validate the market need, refine the product concept, and understand how telecom operators utilize GIS, high-resolution location data, and RF simulation tools in practice. The initial focus is on building-level spatial data, 3D clutter, and geodata attributes, and how they support critical wireless workflows such as RF propagation modeling, line-of-sight (LoS) analysis, network rollout prioritization, market expansion, and greenfield/brownfield site selection. What We Are Looking For We want someone with hands-on experience in wireless network design, RF engineering, and spatial data integration, specifically across the following areas: • RF Planning & Propagation Modeling: Deep familiarity with macro, micro, and small cell deployment workflows, link budget calculations, and how spatial/3D data impacts signal prediction. • Atoll Software Expertise: Direct experience utilizing Forsk Atoll (and its various modules like 5G/4G, Aster propagation models, or ACP) to plan and optimize wireless networks. • Wireless GIS & Geodata: Experience working with 3D clutter maps, Digital Elevation Models (DEM/DTM/DSM), building vectors, and high-resolution spatial datasets within a telecom environment. • Site Serviceability & Rollout: Experience in address qualification for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), site acquisition planning, and sales territory analysis. • GIS Platforms: Proficiency in core GIS tools used alongside RF engines, such as Esri ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS, or specialized telecom asset management platforms. • OSS/BSS Integration: Understanding of how RF design data flows into network inventory, configuration management, and downstream operational workflows. Ideal Candidate The ideal consultant will have worked directly as an RF Engineer, Wireless Network Planner, or GIS Specialist for a mobile network operator (MNO), wireless infrastructure company, or a specialist telecom RF consulting firm.
