Translation Correction: Russian, Japanese, Chinese(Cantonese), Arabic, Portuguese(Brazil), Galician

Summary We are looking for native or near-native (C2 level) speakers of the following languages, also fluent in English, to perform translation review and correction tasks (English ↔ target language): Russian Japanese Chinese(Cantonese) Arabic Portuguese(Brazil) Galician Requirements Native or near-native proficiency (C2) in at least one of the listed languages (please specify your regional variant where applicable, e.g., es-ES, es-US, fr-FR, fr-CA Strong command of English (C1 or higher) Excellent attention to detail and sensitivity to nuance, register, and idiomatic usage Prior experience in translation, post-editing, MT evaluation, or linguistic QA is a plus Knowledge of multiple listed languages is highly preferred Task Description You will work on a web-based platform where you will be assigned source texts along with their machine-generated translations (in both directions: English → your native language and your native language → English). Your role is to: Validate the translations against the source for accuracy, fluency, and naturalness Correct mistranslations, omissions, additions, grammatical errors, and awkward phrasing Ensure the output reads naturally to a native speaker while staying faithful to the source meaning Note: Not all translations will require heavy editing — your judgment is required to identify actual errors versus acceptable stylistic variation. Compensation Payment will be based on a hybrid approach: Number of corrections made + Volume of text processed (word count) Rates will be aligned with the provided hourly rate (details will be finalized before contract start) Selection Process Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a paid calibration task consisting of a short translation review sample (both directions). Candidates who meet the required accuracy threshold will be invited to join the project. Project Duration and Intensity Estimated: 1–3 months Possibility of extension depending on performance and project needs We will be looking for 3–4 hrs availability daily during active task periods
