Travel Concierge Specialist — Amadeus GDS Location: Remote (open to candidates worldwide) Type: Full-time Compensation: $15–20/hour, based on experience Team: Concierge / Customer Experience About the Role Axel is looking for a Travel Concierge Specialist with deep expertise in the Amadeus GDS to join our concierge team. In this role, you'll process live flight and hotel bookings for our members while also acting as a full member of the concierge team, handling member communications, resolving booking issues, and delivering the high-touch service Axel is known for. This is a hybrid role: part GDS specialist, part concierge. You'll need both the technical fluency to work fast and accurately inside Amadeus, and the service instincts to represent Axel directly to members. What You'll Do Process flight and hotel bookings end-to-end using Amadeus GDS, including fare search, pricing, ticketing, and PNR management Handle post-booking servicing: schedule changes, cancellations, refunds, voids, and reissues Monitor and manage a live queue of booking requests, prioritizing based on urgency and departure timing Act as a member of the concierge team: respond to member inquiries, troubleshoot booking issues, and provide proactive updates on flight status or itinerary changes Collaborate with the broader concierge team across time zones to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage Flag pricing discrepancies, fare rules issues, or system gaps to the product/engineering team Maintain accuracy and compliance with airline and GDS policies on every booking What We're Looking For Required: Hands-on Amadeus GDS experience — comfortable with core commands for availability, pricing, ticketing, and PNR remarks/servicing without needing a cheat sheet Prior experience in a travel agency, airline, corporate travel, or OTA environment Strong attention to detail — a single command error can mean a misticketed booking Comfortable working in a fast-paced queue-based environment with volume and deadline pressure Excellent written communication skills for direct member-facing interactions Flexibility on shift timing — we're a 24/7 team and will work with you to find a schedule that fits Nice to have: familiarity with other GDS platforms (Sabre, Travelport), NDC bookings, or airline direct-connect tools Location & Schedule This is a fully remote role open to candidates anywhere. Our concierge team operates around the clock across multiple time zones, so shift assignment is flexible and will be determined based on team coverage needs and your availability.
