UiPath RPA Developer — Healthcare Support & Maintenance (Ongoing Contract)
Worldwide
About the Role We're a healthcare RPA team looking for an experienced UiPath developer to join us on a contract basis. The majority of this role is production support and maintenance of existing bots, with some new development mixed in. If you enjoy diving into existing codebases, debugging real-world failures, and keeping enterprise automations running reliably — this is a strong fit. Important — How We Work All work is performed live via Zoom screen share / remote control on our systems. You will not receive local access to code, credentials, or client environments. We share screens and drive together during working sessions. This is non-negotiable due to healthcare data compliance requirements. Candidates who are not comfortable working exclusively through screen share should not apply. Required Skills UiPath Studio (Web and Desktop) — 3+ years hands-on production experience. Comfortable navigating existing projects, reading someone else's code, and debugging without full documentation. UiPath Orchestrator — Queue management, asset configuration, credential vaults, job monitoring, log analysis, folder structure, package versioning. REFramework — Deep understanding of dispatcher/performer patterns, transaction handling, retry logic, business vs. system exception handling. Most of our existing bots use this pattern. Production support experience — Comfortable diagnosing failing bots in live environments, reading logs, identifying root causes across UI, data, and application exceptions. REST API integration — HTTP-based workflows, JWT authentication, JSON parsing, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation. Document Understanding / IDP — UiPath Document Understanding, taxonomy creation, validation stations, OCR engines, regex-based extraction. Excel automation — Reading/writing structured data, data tables, formulas. VB.NET / C# — Comfortable writing custom code activities. Git-based workflow — Comfortable with branches, pull requests, code reviews. Strongly Preferred Epic experience — Prior work automating within Epic EHR (workqueues, patient charts, coverage authorization, benefits collection, real-time eligibility, SmartText, HDX, etc.). We work with Epic-integrated bots frequently, and Epic experience will significantly weight your application. Healthcare domain knowledge — Prior authorization, revenue cycle management, insurance eligibility verification, coverage authorization workflows, HIPAA-conscious work practices. Nice-to-Have Skills UiPath Maestro — Orchestration flows, case management patterns, long-running business process automation. JavaScript expressions in Studio Web — Inline expressions for variable manipulation, string concatenation, object construction. UiPath AI Center — Model deployment, ML skill integration. Playwright — Web portal automation as an alternative to Studio-based approaches. Multi-Factor Authentication handling — Patterns for automating around 2FA in web applications. Action Center / Process Apps — Human-in-the-loop workflows. CyberArk / enterprise credential management — Working within secure credential vault environments. Citrix / VDI environments — Automation in virtualized environments. AI/LLM integration — Familiarity with integrating LLMs, AI Agents, or Anthropic/OpenAI APIs into RPA workflows. What You'll Do Support and maintain existing production UiPath bots — debugging failures, resolving business/application exceptions, keeping automations running reliably. Build enhancements and new features into existing automations. Occasional new development from scratch on integration-heavy workflows. Diagnose issues live during Zoom sessions, walking through logs and code with the team. Follow team-defined coding standards and Git workflows. Ideal Candidate 3+ years of production UiPath development experience with a strong support/maintenance track record. Comfortable working exclusively through Zoom screen share and remote control — no local access. Comfortable reading and modifying code written by others. Strong debugging instincts — able to work backward from a failure to root cause quickly. Clear written and verbal communication (documentation, code comments, status updates). Comfortable in ambiguous situations — able to push through blockers, escalate when needed. Timezone overlap with US business hours strongly preferred. Certifications (Preferred) UiPath Advanced RPA Developer Certification UiPath Automation Developer Professional Project Details Type: Contract, part-time to start (10–20 hrs/week), potential to increase with strong performance.
