Unreal Engine 5 Developer (IC3) We are looking for a skilled Unreal Engine 5 Developer (IC3) to join our single-player narrative RPG. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on building, improving, and maintaining core gameplay systems inside Unreal Engine 5. You will be expected to work with a high level of independence while collaborating closely with leadership, design, art, animation, and production teams to bring complex features to life. As an IC3 Developer, you will be responsible for developing gameplay systems, UI systems, and Blueprint-driven features that support the overall technical and creative vision of the project. This includes quest logic, branching dialogue mechanics, AI-driven NPC behaviors, environmental interactions, progression systems, puzzle mechanics, time-based gameplay features, and other systems required by production. You should be comfortable taking ownership of features from implementation through testing, iteration, optimization, and final integration into a stable build. This role requires strong hands-on Unreal Engine 5 expertise. You should be highly proficient with C++ and Blueprints, with the ability to determine when a system should be built in code, Blueprints, or a clean combination of both. You must be capable of creating scalable gameplay architecture, maintaining clean Blueprint logic, debugging complex interactions, and supporting designers with flexible systems that are easy to expand and tune. Strong UI implementation experience is important, including HUDs, menus, interaction prompts, dialogue interfaces, inventory-style screens, player feedback systems, and other in-engine UI features. As an IC3 Developer, you will be expected to contribute beyond basic feature implementation. You should be able to identify technical risks, propose practical solutions, improve existing systems, refactor unstable Blueprint logic, support build stability, and help establish reliable workflows for gameplay implementation. While this is not a pure management role, you should be comfortable mentoring less experienced developers when needed, reviewing technical approaches, and helping ensure that gameplay systems are maintainable, optimized, and testable. The role requires a strong understanding of Unreal Engine gameplay frameworks, AI systems, animation pipelines, UI workflows, performance profiling, and optimization techniques. Familiarity with rendering, lighting, Lumen workflows, asset integration, and performance constraints is highly valuable. Since our characters are built in Character Creator 4 and 5 (CC4/CC5), you should also have experience integrating characters, rigs, animations, and related assets into UE5. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. You must be able to work closely with designers, artists, producers, and other engineers to translate creative goals into functional systems. You should be comfortable receiving feedback, communicating blockers early, documenting your work when needed, and making technical decisions that support the larger project rather than only the immediate task. Preferred experience includes working on narrative-driven games, RPG systems, branching dialogue, quest systems, gameplay UI, AI-driven NPC behaviors, puzzle mechanics, time-based systems, and interactive environmental features. Experience with version control systems such as Perforce, Git, or SVN is expected, and exposure to build pipelines, continuous integration, automated testing, or release preparation will be considered a plus. Prior involvement in prototyping, early-stage game development, or building systems for designers to use is also highly valued.
