Summary

We are looking for a part-time GIS QA/QC analyst to support a utility data quality initiative involving field-visited service line records, polygon assignments, tracker validation, and exception documentation. This is not a general map-making role. The work requires reviewing GIS/portal records, validating mapped utility features, checking attribute data, identifying discrepancies, and documenting findings clearly for internal review. Primary Responsibilities: • Review recently field-visited records in a GIS admin portal. • Validate mapped service lines against related reference or stand-in segment records. • Confirm Service ID, Meter ID, field verification status, and related attribute data where applicable. • Review mapped line quality, including horizontal accuracy, unusual geometry, jagged lines, misplaced lines, or lines inconsistent with expected service locations. • Review polygon-level and record-level statuses. • Identify polygons marked complete where internal records may still be incomplete. • Support Progress Tracker validation and flag unexpected values, including negative counts or portal-to-tracker discrepancies. • Prepare clear QA/QC findings, screenshots, issue logs, and exception summaries. • Support ad hoc service history measurement review by comparing map measurements against source data when needed. Required Experience: • Hands-on GIS experience, preferably with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or similar tools. • Experience reviewing GIS attribute tables and spatial data quality. • Strong attention to detail and ability to document issues clearly. • Ability to follow a QA/QC checklist and escalate exceptions instead of guessing. • Comfortable working with utility, pipeline, linear asset, field collection, or infrastructure data. Preferred Experience: • Gas, electric, water, pipeline, or other utility GIS experience. • Experience with field data validation, as-built review, or utility asset records. • Experience creating QA/QC logs, discrepancy reports, and weekly summary reports. Familiarity with service lines, meter records, pipeline segments, polygons, and field verification workflows. To Apply: Please include: 1. A short description of your GIS QA/QC experience. 2. Any utility, pipeline, linear asset, or field data validation experience. 3. Tools you have used, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, Field Maps, Survey123, Excel, Power BI, Python, or SQL. 4. One example of a QA/QC or data validation project you completed. 5. Your hourly rate and weekly availability.
