Vacuum Systems & Fabrication Drawings - Design Engineer for Industrial Vacuum Vessels & Mixers
Worldwide
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Industrial Mixers, Pressure/Vacuum Vessels & Custom Process Equipment We are developing a new line of industrial mixing and vacuum/pressure processing equipment and are looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer for a long-term engineering partnership. The ideal engineer should be comfortable with both mechanical engineering calculations and manufacturing-ready CAD drawings. The initial project will cover 3 equipment types, with 2 different volume sizes for each type. After the initial models are completed, additional design work will continue as new customer projects are received. Future work may include scale-up/down, different motor powers and RPM, bulk densities, mechanical loads, pressure/vacuum levels, temperatures, mechanical seals, agitators, nozzles, discharge configurations, filters, and other customer-specific options. Reference drawings, dimensions, operating conditions, and engineering data will be provided. The engineer will be expected to develop these into independently engineered, manufacturing-ready designs. Projects may include: * Vacuum drying chambers * Vacuum receivers and pressure storage vessels * Jacketed process vessels * Vertical and horizontal industrial mixers * Pressure-rated and full-vacuum vessels * Reactors and agitators * Shafts, mechanical seals, gearboxes, motors, and bearings * Structural frames * Other custom industrial process equipment Previous hands-on experience designing similar industrial equipment is important. Experience with mixers, agitators, pressure vessels, vacuum chambers, reactors, dryers, or related process equipment is especially preferred. Because the work involves intellectual property, an NDA with verified identification information will be required. We will provide our identification information as well. All work and payments will remain through Upwork, and the identification is solely for the legal agreement. ********************************** Each project is expected to continue beyond the drawing stage. The engineer should provide technical support through fabrication, respond to manufacturing questions, revise drawings where required, and support the project until fabrication and FAT are completed. For pressure-vessel projects, the engineer should also support the required ASME or other applicable code documentation and technical review process in coordination with the selected manufacturer and certification/inspection parties. We are looking for an engineer who can remain involved from engineering design through actual manufacturing completion, rather than only delivering CAD files. ********************************** We will discuss the cost by per project as fixed cost job. We do not work by hourly charges.
