Voice Actors Needed for Dark Fantasy Fan Audio Drama — Additional Characters & Background Voices
Worldwide
Seeking voice actors for a dark fantasy fan audio drama adaptation of The Witcher. Responsibilities include providing additional character voices and background voices. The project is a adaptation, requiring creativity and passion for the genre. Ideal candidates will have experience in voice acting and audio production, with a strong understanding of character development and storytelling. ROLES NEEDED: 1. SCRUFFY INNKEEPER A tired, rough working-class innkeeper. Suspicious, gruff, and not eager to get involved. He has seen too many drunkards, travelers, and violent men pass through his tavern. Voice direction: gravelly, cautious, worn-down, impatient, slightly bitter. Performance style: Natural and understated. He should sound like someone trying not to attract trouble. Audition line: “What will it be?” Second line: “There’s none. Ask at the Old Narakort.” 2. POCKMARKED MAN A tall, unpleasant criminal-looking man. Hissy, snarly, cruel, and intimidating. He starts quiet and controlled, then becomes more aggressive. Voice direction: raspy, snake-like, mocking, dangerous, dirty confidence. Performance style: Low menace. Not shouting at first — he should sound like someone enjoying the threat. Audition line: “There’s no room to be had, you Rivian vagabond.” Second line: “Pay. And leave.” 3. THUG ONE An obnoxious, almost drunken bully. Loud, cocky, and looking for a fight. Voice direction: rough, arrogant, sneering, slurred around the edges. Performance style: Aggressive and nasty, but not too comedic. Audition line: “He can’t hear you. His ears are full of shit.” 4. THUG TWO A cruel follower who laughs at the violence and backs up the main bully. Less intelligent, more animal-like. Voice direction: low, rough, nasty, mean-spirited. Performance style: Short reactions, laughs, threats, and fight efforts. Audition line: “Yeah. Finish your beer somewhere else.” Extra sounds: Cruel laugh, drunken cackle, pain grunt, body impact reaction. 5. THUG THREE A quieter but dangerous background thug. He does not talk much, but his presence adds pressure. Voice direction: deep, low, threatening, minimal. Performance style: Short, grounded, intimidating. Audition line: “Careful. He’s armed.” Extra sounds: Low mutter, breathy laugh, fight grunt, fall impact. 6. NERVOUS TAVERN CUSTOMER A normal villager/customer who wants no part in the confrontation. He reacts fearfully when the violence starts. Voice direction: nervous, hushed, ordinary, frightened. Performance style: Realistic background reaction. Audition line: “Leave it. Just leave it alone.” Extra sounds: Startled gasp, panicked whisper, running breath. 7. DRUNK TAVERN CUSTOMER A half-drunk local who joins in the ugly atmosphere but becomes terrified once things turn violent. Voice direction: loose, drunk, rough, cowardly. Performance style: Starts amused, ends scared. Audition line: “Never liked Rivians. Not one of them.” Extra sounds: Drunken chuckle, muttering, panic gasp. 8. OLD MAN / LOCAL REGULAR An older local sitting in the tavern. He has seen violence before and knows when things are going wrong. Voice direction: aged, dry, wary, rough. Performance style: Quiet, realistic, full of warning. AUDIO REQUIREMENTS: * Clean WAV files preferred * 24-bit / 48 kHz preferred if possible * Dry/raw recording only — no reverb or heavy effects * Minimal background noise * Multiple takes are appreciated * Please leave a little silence before and after each take * Label files clearly by character and take number WHAT TO SEND: Please send: * A short demo reel or custom audition * Your microphone/setup * Which roles you are auditioning for * Whether you can perform multiple voices * Whether you are comfortable doing background tavern reactions, fight efforts, and panic reactions * Your rate for a small batch of lines * Your estimated delivery time PERFORMANCE NOTES: The acting should feel grounded, tense, and realistic. This is not a cartoon fantasy project. The tavern should feel dirty, dangerous, and lived-in. Characters should sound like real people in a harsh medieval world. The confrontation begins quietly. The danger should build through silence, breath, low threats, and uncomfortable pauses before it suddenly turns violent. Please avoid overacting. I’m looking for believable human fear, cruelty, tension, and panic.
