WordPress/Divi Developer — Rebuild Corporate Photography Site

Posted 3 weeks ago

Summary

I'm rebuilding the website for an established NYC corporate event photography business. The full copy and a detailed developer brief are already written — every page's content, meta tags, schema markup, URL structure, internal linking, and CTA placement is specced out. I'm looking for an experienced developer to build it, not to write copy or strategy. Your job is clean, fast, technically correct implementation. This is a rebuild of an existing live site, so the migration has to protect current Google rankings — meaning 301 redirects, a staging build, and a clean cutover. I have a written migration plan for this too. The site is roughly 22 pages: a homepage, service pages, location pages, location+service landing pages, plus standard About/Contact/Portfolio/Thank-You pages. What you'll be doing: -Building ~22 pages in WordPress + Divi on a staging environment, from finished copy and a detailed spec -Implementing Yoast SEO — meta titles/descriptions, canonical tags, XML sitemap, and per-page settings (all specced in the brief) -Implementing JSON-LD schema markup — LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Organization (code samples provided in the brief) -Setting up the 301 redirect map from old URLs to new, and executing a clean staging-to-live cutover -Image handling: renaming image files to SEO-friendly filenames and writing relevant, descriptive alt text for every image (this is a real part of the job, not an afterthought -Configuring a mobile sticky CTA, a Google Reviews widget (async loading), and a contact form with a thank-you page redirect + GA4 conversion event -Standard performance setup: image optimization, lazy loading, caching, Core Web Vitals Design expectations: This is a premium, corporate-first brand — the clients are major companies, government, and professional organizations. The design needs to feel elevated, clean, and confident, not like a generic photography template. Think high-end professional services firm, not consumer/wedding photographer. Strong typography, generous whitespace, fast load, restraint over flashiness. If your portfolio is full of busy, templated, or consumer-flavored sites, this probably isn't the right fit. Must-haves (please don't apply without these) Demonstrable WordPress + Divi experience (link to Divi sites you've built) Yoast SEO proficiency — you know how to configure it properly, not just install it Comfort hand-writing/implementing JSON-LD schema markup Experience with site migrations and 301 redirects without losing SEO rankings An eye for clean, premium, corporate design — portfolio examples that prove it Speed and reliability — this is a defined-scope project and I want it done efficiently Nice to have: GA4 / Google Search Console familiarity Hosting/DNS comfort (the site is on SiteGround) Page-speed / Core Web Vitals optimization experience How to apply: Your own work: Share 2-3 portfolio links to corporate or professional-services sites you've built in WordPress/Divi — ideally ones that look premium, not templated. References for this build: Send 2-3 links to existing websites (anyone's — not your own) whose style and feel you'd use as a direction for this project. I want to see that we share a visual reference point. Tell me in a sentence what you'd draw from each — the typography, the layout restraint, the overall feel, whatever it is. Migration: Briefly, how would you approach the rebuild so current Google rankings aren't lost? (One or two sentences.) Structure & price: Propose how you'd break the project into milestones, your timeline, and your price. I'd rather see how you think about the work than get a single flat number. The copy, technical brief, and migration plan are all written and ready to share with the right person once we connect here. This is a well-prepared, defined-scope project — budget is flexible for someone with proven premium-design and clean-migration experience. I'm looking for someone who'll execute it efficiently and get it right the first time. Good luck!
