Read This Part First: ***Applications without a portfolio and a Loom will not be reviewed.*** Please do not call or email us concerning this role, and definitely do not book a call with us on our website. You must complete the application along with your portfolio and loom video. If you do not follow these steps, you will not be considered at all for this role. If all steps are not completed at the time of your application, you will not be considered. Also, we want a brand new, unique Loom video, not an old one. It needs to be specific to this role and answer the questions we have below. This is a design role and a build role. Both. Not one or the other. We are not looking for someone who waits for a finished Figma file and clicks it together. We are looking for a designer who can take a client's brand kit, a stack of inspiration sites, and a page of approved copy, then create an original, modern, conversion-focused design from a blank canvas and build it in Bricks Builder themselves. If you have never designed a website from scratch, this is not your role. If you have designed beautiful sites but cannot build them in Bricks, this is not your role either. If you can do both, keep reading, because those people are rare and we know it. About Us At Sean Garner Consulting, we help small business owners stop wasting money on marketing that does not work and start winning with clear messaging, high-converting websites, and systems that actually grow their business. Our websites are built to do one thing well: turn visitors into leads and customers. We are not a "make it look pretty and hope" agency. We care about strategy, clarity, performance, and results. Now we are adding a WordPress Website Designer and Developer who shares that mindset and has a sharp eye for clean, conversion-focused design. Position Overview You will own client websites end to end, from the first blank artboard to the live, fast, fully integrated site. Here is what a typical project looks like. The client sends over their branding assets and 2 to 5 inspiration websites with notes on what they like. Our strategy team delivers the message, the page structure, and all of the copy. From there it is yours. You decide the layout, the visual system, the typography, the spacing, the imagery, the motion, and how every section actually looks and feels. Then you build the whole thing in WordPress using Bricks Builder and make it work flawlessly on desktop, tablet, and mobile. You are not decorating a template. You are designing something original for that specific business, then building it yourself so nothing gets lost in translation. You will also maintain existing client sites, audit and clean up technical issues, manage plugins, run migrations, and keep everything fast, secure, and stable. Key Responsibilities Original Design (this is the part we care most about) Create original website designs from scratch for each client, based on their brand, their industry, their audience, and their inspiration references. Make real design decisions: layout, hierarchy, typography, color application, spacing, imagery direction, and interaction. Design custom assets as needed, including icons, graphics, banners, illustrations, and section visuals, using Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or your tool of choice. Take inspiration references as direction, not as something to copy. Clients should get something that feels made for them. Present and explain your design decisions clearly to the internal team and, when needed, to the client. Build (WordPress and Bricks Builder) Build every design you create in WordPress using Bricks Builder, at an expert level. Translate approved strategy and copy into clean, conversion-focused layouts that hold up on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Rebuild existing WordPress sites made in other builders and migrate them to Bricks. Create and manage staging and testing environments for new sites and major updates. Keep builds clean, organized, reusable, and easy for the next person to work in. Maintenance and Optimization Update and maintain existing client WordPress and Bricks sites. Manage plugins responsibly, including updates, replacements, and removal of outdated or broken plugins. Audit sites for technical issues such as broken forms, bad code, outdated plugins, and performance problems. Hold the line on site speed, security, backups, and overall stability. Hosting, Migrations, and Technical Setup Move WordPress sites between hosting providers safely and correctly. Understand hosting environments and basic server considerations. Connect domains, manage DNS changes, and run smooth site launches. Integrations and Tracking Integrate WordPress sites with third-party tools using platforms like Zapier. Set up and manage Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. Make sure every form and lead capture tool is properly connected and tested. Communication and Collaboration Communicate clearly and proactively with the internal team. Ask smart questions when something is unclear instead of guessing. Give realistic timelines and honest progress updates. Take feedback well and use it to make the final product better. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience designing websites from scratch, not just building from someone else's design. Your portfolio needs to show sites where you made the design decisions. Expert-level experience with WordPress and Bricks Builder. Strong eye for design, layout, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy. Ability to follow branding guidelines and inspiration while still making smart, original design decisions. Solid understanding of responsive and mobile-first design. Experience maintaining WordPress sites and managing plugins safely. Experience migrating WordPress sites between hosts. Ability to audit and troubleshoot WordPress issues. Comfortable integrating third-party tools and tracking systems. Working knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with marketing agencies or service-based businesses. Real understanding of conversion-focused design, not just aesthetics. Familiarity with GoHighLevel. This is a big plus. Experience embedding or integrating GoHighLevel tools into WordPress sites. This is a huge plus. Basic understanding of SEO-friendly site structure. Comfort with light custom CSS or JavaScript when Bricks alone will not get there.
